The hotel is beautiful with large comfortable rooms. It has a beautiful fitness center, very large by European standards. What stood out however was the fantastic service. From inquiries prior to arrival with the concierge staff through departure, the service was memorable. Maybe the best, friendly helpful concierge staffs I've encountered. We will be back

The hotel is simply gorgeous having undergone a 2 plus year renovation. The service is more than you could expect, the rooms are beautifully appointed and the concierge is wonderful.

The lower rooms have a little bit of street noise but George's V is not a busy high speed street. Walking distance to the arc, louvre, seine and if you have your sneakers, notre dame and the tower.

Concierge took care of all of our reservations - simply top notch and wonderful.

We were visiting our son who is studying abroad in Paris and we chose the prince de galles as our hotel. Everything from the room to the service was top notch!! Convenient location to everything and steps away from the George V metro stop!! A bit expensive but given the location, it was expected!! We wii be back!!

Stayed for a couple nights w friends. The concierge was amazing helping us w reservations ranging from nice dinners to a cabaret to golf. Given we don't speak a lick of French their help was invaluable. Fun bar, great rooms, great location. Can't say enough good things about our stay.

My husband and I stayed here for one night using his SPG points as a weekend away. We cannot fault this hotel, the service was excellent from every single member of staff we met. The room was tasteful, spacious and well equipped. The bar did the most amazing cocktails in the evening. Breakfast in the morning was equally as impressive. Special thanks to the concierge who found us a gem of a restaurant to have dinner in.

Oh my goodness, what a fabulous hotel! All the staff are extremely friendly, polite and professional, nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere in the hotel is really friendly and welcoming. The rooms are lovely and must have the most comfortable beds ever. Location could not be better, you can just walk everywhere. A truly beautiful hotel, exceptionally well restored. The breakfast was just mouth-wateringly good, coffee great and all in a lovely setting. The concierge helped us out with restaurant reservations (at the last minute) and found us a truly Parisienne restaurant just round the corner. The hotel is well worth every penny. Will definitely be staying there again and would recommend to anyone.

Paris is full of fabulously expensive hotels - Georges V, Crillon, Plaza Athenee etc. Prince de Galles, after its 2.5 year renovation, reopened in 2013. Many years ago, when I first visited Prince de Galles, it seemed a second-rate hotel compared to its glittering neighbour the Georges V. This renovation has brought it up to standard, and can rightfully claim its place amongst the famous hotels of Paris.

The location
For the right-bank aficionados, this is the perfectly located hotel, next to the champs elysees, nestled on avenue george V amongst all the brand names you would ever want, at the mid-point between the arc de triomphe and place de la concorde; maserattis and Lamborghinis galore. For those who don't like so much flashiness and prefer a bit of subtlety, look the other side of the river.

The reception
Warm and attentive. very well done. Compared to the george V, this is a more subtle and quieter hotel. Next door feels like a bit of a marketplace in comparison!

The room
The suite we had was enormous by parisien standards - equivalent to two rooms interconnected. The bathroom is beautifully decorated with two basins and there is a spacious rain shower and a segregated toilet area with bidet. Toiletries are by Bulgari with its signature white flower fragrance. The balcony looks onto a busy ave george V and two unappetising modern buildings; rooms on the other side that have the courtyard view are obscurred in winter by a cover, which keeps the F and B customers downstairs warm and shielded from the rain, but makes for an uninteresting view.

Overall it feels beautifully decorated with haut de gamme furnishings - everything you would ever expect from a hotel at this level.

Service
Very friendly, staff go out of their way to be nice and to make us feel at home. A world away from the usual snooty, arrogant, slow service expected in Paris.

Amenities
The breakfast is amazing, full of fresh viennoiseries and juice in a lovely setting. Have a drink at the bar or the courtyard, which is heavenly and comfortable. The restaurant, La Scene, seems a little expensive and a bit sterile in terms of ambience, but we didn't try the food.

Overall
It's a really accomplished hotel that strives to do its best, and succeeds in doing so, but when you come here paying Eur 600+ a night, and compared to what you get in equivalent iconic Luxury Collection hotels in other cities like Venice, it really does bite. But then this is Paris, and it is kind of in-line with local prices. What's really lacking is competition, and it's not the hotel's fault.

Room Tip: higher levels with views on the avenue georges V are better, unless you treasure quietness, in which...
