If you go there only to see Monet’s Impression, sunrise then it would be worth the while. It is a unique piece as a painting and also as one of the most significant works of art history - making art history. Of course, the richest Monet collection has a lot more to offer, it’s a regular feast for the eye. The museum itself is not easy to find, but there is good bus and metro connection to get there,

For Claude Monet's fans, this is a must. Don't miss the 'sunrise impression' in comparison to Fromanger's recent work - in the basement of the mansion.

You need to go to this museum. The museum is two different worlds . You walk into this old mansion , beautiful artwork by Renoir, Gauguin, Sisley and Morisot and beautiful furniture but not what I was expecting. It’s like you’re walking in someone’s home. Than you enter the modern area of this museum , with the Orient exhibit and downstairs in the Monet basement and it fills like you’ve entered a completely different museum. Downstairs all Monet and it’s displayed beautifully and it’s just amazing to be surrounded by so many paintings by a master. The Orient exhibit had Ingres, Delacroix, Corot and Kandinsky.
If all I saw was the Berthe Morisot collection I would have been happy. Wow. Such beautiful work , one of my new favorites , along with Macke and Marc at l’Orangerie. Beautiful, beautiful artwork
I will return to this museum what fantastic museum.

Michel Monet, Claude’s second son and only heir bequeathed the works he inherited from his father to this museum. The impressive collection features over 300 works by Monet in a beautiful display. The museum is a bit off the beaten path and thus there are few crowds - such a delight to view these spectacular works in peace and quiet and at one’s leisure. The museum itself has much more to offer including an impressive sword collection as well as many works by Berthe Morisot. Time very well spent!!
