I adore Monet. Like..i have replicas in my apartment in manhattan oil on canvas replicas. And this place was heaven. I mean..you cannot go wrong. Its a bit out of the city and you have to walk a bit to find it but once there its perfect. about 50 pieces up and down this gorgeous house of some of the most beautiful monet paintings in the world.

Make this a point to go if you love Monet. So worth it.

Great selection of Monet's paintings, don't miss them! Museum was not packed so you could really stand back and get to view them as they should be seen.

If you love Monet like me, this is the museum for you. The basement the best examples I have ever seen. I spent an hour just sitting and looking at the murals. Very relaxing and not as crowded as other museums in the city.

My husband and I visited this museum last week. We almost didn't go because some of the reviews that stated the whole museum was not open. We took a chance and were thrilled. The entire house was open including the new exhibit of Napoleon's sisters. Such a great museum and found some lovely gifts in the shop. This museum was well worth the trip out there. Another bonus was that there were not many people which was such a treat in Paris.

This is a lovely little museum with a range of Monets in the basement gallery ranging from early Impressionist paintings (including Impression, Sunrise) to his later Waterlilies. These paintings and their descriptions very well describe his life and the development of his works. On the ground floor is a temporary exhibition about Napoleon's sisters which will be of less interest to non-French visitors and on the first floor is an exhibition of Berthe Morisot paintings. It is a ten minute walk from La Muette metro station but you can take a number 32 bus back from the museum to the metro or take the same bus right back into central Paris. The museum does not have a café so you would be well advised to get refreshments beforehand at one of the many cafés and restaurants nearby the metro. Yamazaki is a particularly good, friendly and reasonably priced café.
