Owner description: Located in a 19th-century mansion, this museum's fabulous collection of Impressionist paintings ranks second only behind the Musée d'Orsay.

Nice museum with early Monet's and usually a special exhibit. Nice walk to get there from Metro and some good restaurants along the way. Less crowded and a nice change of pace.

A little ot of the way, not crowed. Houses 90 or so Monets showing his progression towards blindness. Other great works here as well

We've wanted to go back many times over the years but never quite got there. It was outstanding 20 years ago and is still outstanding. As it happened, there is a temporary exhibit of Flemish masters including Reubens, Breughel, Van Dyke and many others I've never heard of before. Because of this large and superb exhibit, many of the Monet paintings have been moved, loaned out or are in storage. Their being absent was more than made up for by the presence of the Flemish masters. The paintings are a feast of exquisite art. It is a cozy, small museum that is just the right size and is not crowded. Staff were delightfully friendly engaging us in conversation. Next time, we'll get to see the many Monet paintings again..

If you love Monet and Water Lillies you'll love the Musee Marmottan. A pleasant way to spend an afternoon without being overwhelmed.

Had a great selection of Monet's and Dutch Masters. It's within walking distance to the Hotel Gavarni. Has a good gift shop. The painting are very well arranged
