We visited this museum in 2013 before it closed for renovations. Upon revisiting it, we can't understand what took them so long. There's nothing particularly striking about the new museum and the contents are no more or less impressive than they were before. The Picasso Museum in Barcelona has a better collection and the one in Malaga has works from the family collection that, while smaller, seems less desperate than the collection here, where everything even tenuously associated with the artist (photos, letters from friends, etc.) are put on display. The cafe is a right rip-off, too.

Having first visited this over 10 years ago it was refershihng to see that they've improved the overall museum. However, it doesn't really matter what it looks like as the only reeason to go is to view Picasso's work. The most impressive part for me is the section where you can see Picasso's own collection, which includesd Cezanne and Matisse.

Incredible display of Picasso early drawings from cubism to amusing toys he made for children. This display also includes part of the artist’s collection of Matisse, Monet, Chagall. Plus photos of the artist and letters through the years, Beautifully laud out building. You can wander without being pushed aside by tourists, I learned more about Picasso here than ever.

a very good overview of the painters different periods, they have even pottery and sculptures. The location on itself is also great. A must visit when in Paris and when you like Picasso!
