Because it's different, because it's classic. It's for the people. Elitists hated it because it looked industrial, working class. Don't miss it's lights at 10pm, 11pm, and midnight.

Loved walking up the stairs for just a small fee. The views were amazing. The Light show at night was great too. A must do!

Would a bad review even turn anyone off doing this? You HAVE to go to the summit, the views cannot be matched anywhere else. You can even get a plastic glass of champagne on the top for €12, which to me was another must, just because you can. Pickpocketers and sneaky children everywhere in the area though, so be careful.

This is my 2nd time to visit Paris and I am still in awe everytime I see Eiffel Tower! As the most recognized structure in the world, you cannot afford not to marvel at its magnificence. It is great to see during daytime but a totally different experience at night when it is all lighted and sparkles for 5 minutes of every hour as soon as dusk falls. You cannot help but share in the festive atmosphere and excited anticipation. Go up until the 3rd level, it is totally worth it! Definitely a must see.

Buy tickets ahead if you can, we didn't- elevator line to 2nd floor mid-day had hour-long wait followed by full tower evacuation for a suspicious package for another hour wait. Beautiful views on 2nd floor already mentioned by other readers. To avoid long elevator lines exiting 2nd floor, made the BIG mistake of taking stairs down which ordinarily would be fine on a solid structure but this is OPEN AIR- leg-shakingly queazy. Yes we knew that, but if you add fatigue, heat and Parisian humidity, and an open-air staircase of 20 flights down from 2nd floor to ground, YIKES, you might turn vert- that is, green! Bring your patience & Dramamine and watch out for pick-pockets- a good police presence but many thieves are in the area too. You have to go of course, but it's not as easy as you might hope.
