Our most recent (of many) visits was on the evening of July 14, 2013 -- in other words, the night of Bastille Day. And around 11 p.m., the whole area was lit up with some of the most spectacular fireworks we have ever seen. I'm pretty sure that the city would do this every year on July 14, so if you're in Paris on the national holiday, be sure to see the fireworks at the Tower.

The world's most famous building. 1 hour queues. I slowly get used to at the Paris. A quick elevator. If you feel like you can go on foot! Many people are. The space is tight. We create the required image. Then escape ... The next few days have prepared a lot of pictures! Nicer to look at from a distance! Evening lit. Or during cruise. The Montparnasse tower. Therefore it the symbol of Paris.

A must do, if you haven't already done it!

We wanted to go all the way to the top, as we'd never managed it before (due to wind/weather closures, etc). We aimed to make it to the top for sunset, and only just missed out...lesson learned, so always book in advance and you will walk straight onto a lift!

No view compares to this special one

if you are reading this now and planning to go in the summer (August and September); then unfortunately you are late to buy online "summit" tickets- here is the catch; too many online companies buy the tickets and resell them 2.5x their value.
The best approach is one of the following:
1- Buy online tickets for the second floor- August is avaialble- then on the 2nd floor you que for 30 minutes and you buy 100% the summitt ones. thus skipping the huge ques downstairs.
2- if you are staying at a hotel witha Concierge- send an email as many agents who are not allowed to sell online have tickets; the hotel will take a fee; but definitely less than the 2.5x online.
3- Go through an online reseller; believe me; the wait could go for 2.5 hours at ground level and then 1 hour on the second floor. hard to pay 40 euros for a ticket worth 14.5 euro- yet, it's not like everyday you are there.
now that we finished the tickets issue; time your visit towards the 8 pm +- the weather is better, less school kids visiting and the views are nicer. do make it a point to spend time at the gardens before the visit. one Last tip- go straight to the top and do your visit from the top downwards.

Brilliant. Spook by an announcement over the speakers that pickpockets are active in tower. Climbed all the way to the 2nd Level, 690++ steps, the view is worth every penny. Found a nice little bottle opener in the souvenir shop on 2nd Level that is made in France and not China!
