Did not originally plan on visiting but so glad we made time. Not only was the building wonderful but we were so impressed with all the famous artists and works of art. We are not art aficionados but regular people who are awed but paintings we have read about. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and was one of our top stops.

This converted railway station on the banks of the Seine is spectacular. Great two for one deal ( thank you Eurostar) on entry charge which made me happy:-)
The 5th floor Impressionist gallery is beautiful and has done amazing paintings I’ve never seen before.

The whole gallery is light and area and cool (36 degrees outside).
The view from the 5th floor terrace is breathtaking across the river and up to MontMartre.

A must for anyone in Paris.

Enjoyed the Impressionists primarily and spent the whole day at the museum. It was very busy but still felt like we were able to see the artwork up close and not bumping into others too much. I like so much better than the Louvre (which is wonderful too). What a privilege to see the vast collection of artwork. A must see!

Stunning museum. Enjoyed my meal at the restaurant (the one located when exiting Impressionists gallery).

The Musee d’Orsay is an art museum like on other. It is a landmark art gallery and the place to go to see the best impressionist paintings.
The area around the gallery is nice for restaurants . Go further inland for more interesting bistros and restaurants.

See title. I enjoyed the collection better, the crowds were far smaller, I never had to stand in line to see art, and the space is not like a tomb.
