Owner description: This beautiful museum, once a railroad station, now houses a staggering collection of Impressionist art, as well as other items created between 1848 and 1914. In 2011, the museum is running a renovation of the top floor (impressionist gallery). Only ground and medium floor are accessible. The top floor will re-open on the 20th of October. Meanwhile, some impressionist masterpieces are not visible.

An excellent collection of impressionist and post impressionist work. The art neuvaux collection is sadly lacking though.

Beautifully presented, using all of the features of the former Gare to present a vast array of fantastic art works. The environment was welcoming and filled with beauty. The permanent exhibits were worth the visit alone.

Pretty much a must-see supplement to the Louvre. The Musee d'Orsay is in a fantastic central locaiton and houses a fantastic sweep of modern art. Like all the major institutions it takes time and its tough taking it all in.

Loved this museum! Fell in love with the two clocks. We very much enjoyed wander through the many galleries and getting to see the works of Monet, Degas, Renoir, Van Gogh, Manet...and so many more incredible artists.

It is as if they ran out of room across the river at the Louvre and sent the rest of the good stuff over to the d'Orsay. Adult admission 11 euros, 8.5 euros late in the day. A wonderful museum, great collection of paintings and sculpture!
