Owner description: This beautiful museum, once a railroad station, now houses a staggering collection of Impressionist art, as well as other items created between 1848 and 1914. In 2011, the museum is running a renovation of the top floor (impressionist gallery). Only ground and medium floor are accessible. The top floor will re-open on the 20th of October. Meanwhile, some impressionist masterpieces are not visible.

We waited in line for over an hour with the museum pass. Others waited for 2 hrs. The Kahlo /Rivera exhibit was not as wheel presented as the on I saw at the High in Atlanta. Still at lovely museum.

“If you love Impressionism please go here!”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

This was my favorite place to go as I love the impressionist more than anything else. If you are a fan of this style then go here. Get a pass before hand to skip lines. One negative thing was that it was super crowded and they had the worst organization. The lines they had made no sense at all and the worker did not know how to do their job correctly. The museum itself was beautiful though.

“A Great Experience”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

The d'Orsay is a beautiful building housing the most impressive collection of impressionist paintings I have seen. A definite must to visit when in Paris and I enjoyed it far more the the Louvre. I would recommend you buy your tickets in advance to avoid the very large lines of people waiting to get in.

“Total perspective vortex”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

Give yourself at least half a day here if you can as there is so much to see, with incredible (and often familiar) works of art and some wonderful examples of the heights of French objets d'art (including some stunning art deco rooms). Also try to take in the view out through the old station clock from the 5th floor cafe - it is stunning. Do beware though, the queing times are long (and queuing systems obscure) even with pre-reserved tickets and museum passes.

“Nicely presented variety of art”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

We were here in the fall of 2012, our third visit here. It is a good idea to line up early for tickets. Inside, everything is nicely presented and appealing, but shutterbugs should know that cameras are not allowed-silly rule IMHO. I am done. The end.
