Owner description: This beautiful museum, once a railroad station, now houses a staggering collection of Impressionist art, as well as other items created between 1848 and 1914. In 2011, the museum is running a renovation of the top floor (impressionist gallery). Only ground and medium floor are accessible. The top floor will re-open on the 20th of October. Meanwhile, some impressionist masterpieces are not visible.

We had been to the museum a few years ago before the renovations were complete and it was good then, but not it is truly magnificent. It is not to be missed. Get there early and expect to spend a few hours. Start on the fifth floor and work your way down as most of the masterpieces are upstairs.

As an under 25 European and interested in culture, you could not wish more! The layout, sculptures and easy walk0through (comapred to the Louvre especially) makes this a favourite. The restaurant/cafe offers a reasonably priced and beautiful break form the hustle and bustle.

We only had time for a 2 hour tour but what a tour. About 6 pax and a wonderful tour guide. Took us through the Romantic period through Impressionism to expressionism. Art 101 on speed.BTW a great cafe on the 5th floor. Sat next to folks from
Venezula and Canada.
Didn't have enough time to do it justice. You need a least a half day.

Wonderful collection impressionists. Thrilled to see many paintings that I've only ever seen in books. A treat not to be missed while in Paris.

...And highly manageable; unlike the Louvre which can be very daunting (though still a definite must-do).
Lovely examples here of Art Nouveau, impressionist masters and a huge, airy sculpture exhibit right in the middle.
Also we had lunch at their Cafe Campana on the Fifth florr, which was delicious.
Little tip - i would do the Louvre first before any of the other museums. It will make them seem easier to manage.
