Owner description: This beautiful museum, once a railroad station, now houses a staggering collection of Impressionist art, as well as other items created between 1848 and 1914. In 2011, the museum is running a renovation of the top floor (impressionist gallery). Only ground and medium floor are accessible. The top floor will re-open on the 20th of October. Meanwhile, some impressionist masterpieces are not visible.

Definitely one for lovers of art, particularly the impressionist period. The interior of the building is pretty much a work of art in itself!

I like the organization by period of this museum. You can really learn or relearn a lot about the chronology of art history.

One of the great galleries of the world let alone Paris. Try and avoid Tuesday as it can get very busy with build up of visitors after Monday closing.

First the building is a restored train station and has been so tastefully done. The entrance can be a long wait if you do not get a museum pass..whic is a must for seeing Paris. The levels are easily identified with my Fave Monet on the 3rd and 5th levels.. The old clock presents great picture taking. Much easier too traverse than the Louvre and just as impressive

Fabulous collections, lots to look at and take in. You can't take photos, but hey, that's the rule (although it didn't stop a whole lot of people). This museum is probably more manageable than the Louvre for a number of people. However, there is still so much to see you need a few hours at least. We had a cha,Payne/cake break in the restaurant which was lovely. I'd definitely visit this museum again as they have a great variety of interesting art forms. It is also right on a metro station and very central, so very easy to get to.
