Owner description: This beautiful museum, once a railroad station, now houses a staggering collection of Impressionist art, as well as other items created between 1848 and 1914. In 2011, the museum is running a renovation of the top floor (impressionist gallery). Only ground and medium floor are accessible. The top floor will re-open on the 20th of October. Meanwhile, some impressionist masterpieces are not visible.

“My kind of art”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

This is a fabulous, and very manageable museum. The only downside was that there is no photography allowed. The architecture is amazing, as it is in an old train station. This is the perfect place to visit if you like impressionist art like I do. There is also what seems to be an indoor sculpture garden of sorts - wish I could have taken pictures. I loved it. ...still wondering if the same Rodin piece at both the Rodin Museum and Musee d'Orsay are both originals...

So much beautiful art, be prepared for a long visit! We went early in the day to avoid as much of the crowds as possible. Wonderful exhibits!

“Wear good walking shoes!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

Superb building - a magnificent converted railway building. Well designed and surprisingly varied selection of works of art set over several floors. If you are an 'Impressionist' nut, this is the place for you - but still plenty to satisfy others. We took a tip from one of Trip Advisors reviewers who said to buy the tickets at the small news booth at station exit. We did, and walked straight in past huge queues. It's a lot of walking, and you need 2-3 hours to see everything.

It's a great museum and we absolutely loved all the paintings! The whole family loved seeing the clock on the 5th floor which literally takes your breath away!
