Owner description: This beautiful museum, once a railroad station, now houses a staggering collection of Impressionist art, as well as other items created between 1848 and 1914. In 2011, the museum is running a renovation of the top floor (impressionist gallery). Only ground and medium floor are accessible. The top floor will re-open on the 20th of October. Meanwhile, some impressionist masterpieces are not visible.

“Amazing. My favourite art gallery in Paris.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

D'Orsay is in a beautiful building - an old train station. Unlike the Louvre, where you might feel a little overwhelmed by the sheer volume of art, D'Orsay is more manageable. Van Gogh and the Impresionists were real highlights. The audioguide is also great, in that it is quite concise, again in contrast to the audioguide at the Louvre.

Definitely worth a visit while in Paris. I went twice as the first time I got in for free as it was the first Sunday of the month!

All is wonderful if you like impressionism...which we do! What a wonderful little restaurant too. The special exhibit was grand and the gift shop the best.

The most complete collection of impressionists on earth. A great visit. We enjoyed the visit, but closing time was too early.

“Do not miss this!”

This really rounded out our visit! The Louvre is a must but this is the only thing that the Louvre is missing. Go here but skip the cafe!

“Miss the Old Jeu du Pomme”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2013

The great Impressionists that were crammed into a small space were much more alluring to me. They did aa good job converting the old station but it is hard to get around. Elevators when working are PACKED and hard to find.
Go off hours to avoid the crowds.
