Owner description: This beautiful museum, once a railroad station, now houses a staggering collection of Impressionist art, as well as other items created between 1848 and 1914. In 2011, the museum is running a renovation of the top floor (impressionist gallery). Only ground and medium floor are accessible. The top floor will re-open on the 20th of October. Meanwhile, some impressionist masterpieces are not visible.

“Stunning venue with well thought-out galleries”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 13, 2013

The building alone is worth a visit! Recently restored, this grandiose old train station is an architectural gem. The art is the real star, of course, and it is thoughtfully presented in galleries that flow well.

“Dont miss the 5th floor...”

Great impressionism collection on the 5th floor. After the Louvre, this place is a must on a Paris visit.

“Fantastic gallery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

The collection of art on display is nicely presented and comprehensive without being overwhelming. The gallery building is stunning.
Allow at least 3 hours if you want to see everything. The advertised closing time is 6pm but areas start being closed off from 5:30pm.
We visited on a weekend and certain areas were more crowded than I would like at an art gallery but that is to be expected at such a well renowned gallery.
Overall, highly recommended

“Beautiful on the outside and inside.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013

This art gallery was a breath of fresh air after the Louvre. Much more pleasant to walk around and easier to find your way. As a fan of impressionist art, I naturally preferred the Musée d'Orsay's works, but I thought the whole experience was more agreeable.
