Owner description: This beautiful museum, once a railroad station, now houses a staggering collection of Impressionist art, as well as other items created between 1848 and 1914. In 2011, the museum is running a renovation of the top floor (impressionist gallery). Only ground and medium floor are accessible. The top floor will re-open on the 20th of October. Meanwhile, some impressionist masterpieces are not visible.

“Impressionists wonderful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

If you are in Paris you should not miss a visit to the Musee d'Orsay. The Impressionists art was wonderful and a collection not to be missed. We had to queue for about 15 minutes but it was well worth it. Allow yourself a minimum of 3 hours to see the vast array of art and sculpture on display. The only downside is not being able to take photographs.

“Great museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

Get a museum pass. Go early. Go straight to the Impressionists. Then have a cafe au lait or lunch at the cafe behind the clock face.

“A Great Space”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

The interior of the former railway station was worth a visit on its own. The architects managed to make the space seem almost cozy. The galleries housed a wonderful collection of Modern art with several special exhibitions. I would recommend going early as it does get very crowded and the wait to enter can be long.

“Must see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

This beautiful collection is housed in a knockout building. Get there early to avoid lines and head to the 5th floor to see the impressionists before the tour groups and everybody else arrives. Everything about this place is awe-inspiring.

“Unique”

One of the most unique museums. Outstanding collection of modern art! This should not be missed. Loved the glass block floors and the history of the building.
