Owner description: Located in this 18th-century hotel (Hotel Biron), Musee Rodin holds an impressive collection of works by this famous French sculptor and his circle as Camille Claudel. The museum also features an exquisit garden and a temporary exhibition hall.

The garden with all of the sculptures is worth the walk around. I was especially impressed with Rodin's "Burghers of Calais". I also liked The Shades, the Gates of Hell, and of course, the Thinker.

Musee Rodin is one of my favorite places in Paris yet this trip things were different. Many of Rodin's most famous marbles were moved out of the chateau and into the entry/gift shop building. Part of the beauty of the sculptures was seeing them in such an amazing setting in the chateau with the gardens in the background. I really hope they are just doing some renovations and will eventually move the sculptures back to the big house.

It really took away from the experience.

It was raining, it was cold, but I ventured out to the gardens anyway, because that is where quite a bit of Rodin's works (Gates of Hell, The Thinker... ) are placed, so do go have a look, don't let bad weather hold you back.

I appreciate the Lourve for its amazing and massive, important collections, but I prefer Musee Rodin because it's very compact, not overwhelming, you can spend a good three hours there and still not get museum-ed out!

Part of the museum (the Hotel Biron wing) was undergoing renovations when I visited, apparently renovation works would be completed next year, but they won't affect your visit to the museum, so no worries.

See the thinker live and many others of his sculptures. Up there with David (in Florance) for the Wow factor. You can also stop in at Le Aporgee Alan Passards restraunt across the road.

When we were there the back gardens were not available but the bronzes had been moved. The inside/outside experience of the bronzes and the sculptures was excellent, although you can't take pictures inside, which seems strange. The museum is very simple and clean, and was not crowded
