Owner description: Located in this 18th-century hotel (Hotel Biron), Musee Rodin holds an impressive collection of works by this famous French sculptor and his circle as Camille Claudel. The museum also features an exquisit garden and a temporary exhibition hall.

Ten years ago this museum was one of the highlights of our trip! When we revisited this museum two weeks ago, we were very sadly disappointed. All the important works (like The Kiss) were crammed into an annex next to the entry and the bookstore of the museum. Rodin's house itself seemed a little run down. It had lost its charm without the presence of some of the major pieces. The garden was in the midst of a chaotic costruction of what seemed to be a runway for a fashion show. We left quickly.

Everything, epecially the garden, even in a rainy day. And the three Van Gogh paintings! And the sculptures of Camille Claudel.

My favorite museum in Paris, both for the superb sculptures of the Thinker and the Kiss, and for the home and garden which house them. More enchanting than the Louvre and the Orsay, this is a place you can spend a relaxing afternoon admiring art.

Museum needs to work on the presentation of it's pieces - much of the inside comes off like an industrial storage facility for Rodin. The garden is much nicer than the inside, and is quite well kept, but is rather small. I would only recommend seeing this the Paris Pass and if you are also going to the Musee des Invalides located nearby, I don't think it's worth a visit on it's own unless you are an unusually avid fan of Rodin.
