“Paris 7th arrondissement Eiffel Tower, les Invalides and other sites”
Reviewed December 23, 2012

This district isn’t our favourite area of Paris. It is important, granted, you have to go see the Eiffel Tower and les Invalides where Napoleon is buried and the park is nice. There is a highly recommended walking / shopping street called rue Cler but it isn’t our favourite. (Our favourite walking / shopping streets of Paris are reviewed at Paris : Marais 3rd and 4th districts/quartiers/arrondissements) and Paris : Latin Quarter 5th arrondissement or district)

What are favourites are the musee Rodin on rue Varenne (Metro Varenne) and the musee d’Orsay (Metro Orsay RER). Musee Rodin is a nice place for a picnic in summer where you can walk among his statues and a nice place in winter for a tour inside. and the musee d'Orsay is a treat whenever we go to Paris.

We also liked the Bateaux Mouches which is located at Pont d’Alma, as a one off.

“Terrific base for travelers”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

We recently rented a studio apartment in the 7th and it's the best place we've stayed in our several stays in Paris. There are many very good, reasonably priced restaurants and lazy cafes where you can while away a late afternoon of people-watching after a day of sightseeing. Some French people we met called it the "Park Avenue of Paris", referring to the very high class street in New York. Nice stores and bakeries, for the residents, not for the tourists. I don't know if I'd go as far as Park Ave., but it is certainly a handsome place to stay.

“Our favorite neighborhood in Paris!”
Reviewed June 22, 2012

The 7th is my favorite Arrondissement in all of Paris. It's so wonderfully convenient to everything. We had the pleasure to stay in Paris for one month and our apartment was in the 7th so we had a chance to really experience it well.

We were near Invalides which is also in the 7th. Everything you can possibly need is a short walk away. Tons of bakeries, stores, cafes, etc. We would go into the same bakery every day and get greeted by the owner who would give our kids cookies.

We loved being close to the Bon Marché Epicure which had really great products and desserts and groceries. The Eiffel Tower was a short walk away as well as just about everything else.

Great little parks that you probably wouldn't find unless you were a local. For example, Jardin Catherine Lebouré is a GREAT park to just relax in if you have kids. It's a gated park and you probably would never know a park was there. It's around the corner from the Bon Marché and the access is on rue de Babylone.

We walked around an average of 4 or 5 hours each day exploring Paris and the 7th is still our favorite neighborhood. One of our favorite cafes to go to (with amazing food too) was Le Tourville not far from the Eiffel Tower.

I'd highly recommend staying in the 7th while on vacation.
