If you like fresh crabs, oysters and fish it's the place to go in Paris. Everyday they bring fresh seafood from the north of France. The 800grs crab is out of this world. The house wine is really good. The restaurant concept is great, you get an apron, a hammer, a bucket of potatos, and homemade mayonnaise(the best i had). Finally the staff is amazing.
You should definitely call and reserve cause it's always full even during weekdays.

We found this place on Vurb - looks like a hole on the wall. Great find. Hammers to crack delicious crabs. Oysters were really good. Service was excellent. Bibs much appreciated.

I hate getting messy in restaurants and will happily pass on 'shell on' prawns in favour of clean hands over dinner, not so in the kitchen, but that's another story.

Le Crabe Marteau was our hosts choice for dinner. He did very well. The staff are wonderfully knowledgeable and really do the ordering for you.

The house White is sublime, the tables are covered with newspaper, everyone gets a hammer and a bucket for the shells and a bib. This is all standard and very necessary.

We had oysters (no.3's) and a huge pile of sweet langoustine to start. Simple messy and fresh.

Then it was lobster and a spider crab each - the place was packed on a Wednesday night, with the sound of wooden mallets on crab claws filling the room.

Honestly one of the best dinners in Paris. Definitely not fine dining, but wholesome messy fun.

Great service. The food was incredible - as a crab lover, the tender meat was well marinated in its own tamale. A wonderful choice between the regular crab or spider crab. I would recommend the regular crab as its meat is softer and flakier with a nice balance of firm meat in the claw. The spider crab had slightly less meat but remains firm and slightly "sweeter" than the regular crab. Hammering away, cracking the shells made it all a very worthwhile experience. The cost for the crabs were very resonance. I highly recommend this place.

The crab was excellent. We had the spider crab which was the one available that night.
Oysters though not fine de Claire were great! But what's surprising was the turbot. Perfectly cooked. We didn't see many tables ordering it (focus was on crabs of course) but it should not be missed!
