Beautiful building, authentically decorated with original moroccan furnishings. Had the set menus and they were good value including some wine and cocktails and suited those of us who were vegetarians. Some of the dishes were better than others and the portions were generous - all the staff were pleasant.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate the graduation of a friend. The decor and place is beautiful in itself and the food was very good however we were very disappointed by the service.
It all started with getting the menus.. it took us 30 minutes to get them and only after I personally got up to get a server..
Then all throughout the dinner the plates took forever to get to us and to end this "amazing" service they forgot our desserts which were part of the menu we ordered...
I don't write reviews habitually but this time I am sorry but I had to share with everyone and with the management : when you have such a beautiful place and serve delicious food don't ruin it all by providing a very disappointing service.. after all this is what hospitality is all about...

We've been to this restaurant 3 or 4 times in the past couple years, most recently last night. It does set off the tourist-trap alarm with the decor and occasional bouts of belly dancing, but some of the food is very good -- considerably better than several other Moroccan restaurants we've tried in Paris. I suggest the chicken pastilla and the pear and honey chicken tajine. Both have been consistently very good. I also suggest going on a reasonably busy evening -- the food seems to be better. Service can be slow, but we have never had problems like some of the other commenters.

This was our first time trying an ethnic food while in Paris, and the decision proved to be rather disastrous. First of all, the location should have trigerred a red flag. The Beaubourg area, and specifically the square in front of Pompidou center equals quasi touristy and low quality gyro/kebab establishments (think of Times Square). When we were given the laminated menus it has already dawned on us of what kind of place we were in. The interior is impressive though (and that was one of the reasons we picked the place), but in a cheapo-pseudo Disneyland style. It is a pity that a beautiful hotel particulier was turned into a low-quality joint. The choices on the menu were very scarce, though the prices were amazingly low, and one has to be fair and give the restaurant a proper credit for that. Now the food itself ranged from average to below average. The Salade Berbere (9 euro) was just OK, the assortment of appetizers (Farandole des Entrees priced at 16 euro) was worse than a food served from a cart in Manhattan. The main course was the lamb shoulder cooked with apricots, figues and prunes (32 euro for 2 people); to be honest it was pretty decent, the meat was tender and coming off the bone. We opted for the veggies served with it in a separate plate, with a second choice being potatoes. The portion was huge, enough for 4 people and not just 2.
The worst part was the service though, arguably the worst service ever. The restaurant was not crowded at all at this hour (9 PM on Sunday) but we had to wait for over 15 minutes just to get our menus, and that despite having a reservation. Then it went downhill, the server never provided plates for our main course and we had to resort to eating from the deep dish the food was served in. The plates arrived when we were almost done eating. The worst part was that the appalling service was not merely limited to our personal experience; as we could observe the same kept happening to other patrons as well.
The bill came up to a very modest 81 euro including a bottle of Moroccan wine (24 euro). 2 coffees were on the house, apparently as a compensation for not getting our plates with a main course.
Our advise is to skip Riad Nejma and choose one of the better, more reputable Lebanese restaurants that abound in Paris.

We visited Riad Nejma and initially were pleased with the service and food, but mysteriously our 2 credit cards did not work (after 6 weeks of successful travelling this was very strange), they were not declined, the waiter showed us a '0' balance, thus we paid with cash. At no time did I give a pin or sign, but as this seemed peculiar I checked our balances online only to discover that the money had been taken out of both accounts. Thus if you do go to this restaurant take cash and do not use a credit card or preferably go somewhere else as the experience of the food and service is not worth the risk of paying 3 times as we did even though our bank will reclaim our money.
