Located at the center of Oberkampf's neighborhood in Paris, Chez Justine is a typical new Parisian brasserie, with originality.

“Great food, great part of town”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

This place came highly recommended from an acquaintance who had lived in Paris for a month. It is nestled in an area of the city that has a lot of bars and hipsters everywhere. Dark and intimate inside, with a stage and piano. We don't speak much French, and figuring out the menu would have been awful if not for handy-dandy google translator (Chez Justine has free wi-fi). We ordered onglet de boeuf (the shallot butter on top was delicous!) and an awesome salad (had avocado, chicken, awesome bacon, blue cheese, pecans). The bar/restaurant across the street was pretty cool, too, and just around the corner is Cantada II (an awesome bar where you can get absinthe).

“Great if you like beef”
Reviewed September 14, 2012

A summation of the menu: beef, beef, beef, beef, beef, fish, beef, beef, fish, beef. I know the French struggle with vegetarian food, but I ended up having a cheese-based starter and a cheese-based pasta. Neither were particularly delicious.

But hey, if you like beef then this is the restaurant for you.

“Justine time.”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

After walking for hours, we arrived at Chez Justine. The decor had a rough, likeable charm. It's like Shoreditch with a Parisian flair. Long bar, very cool and attentive start. Nice booths with red leather, or intimate tables by the open windows. On a sticky day the champgne and ice was deliriously good. We plumped for the steak onglet with creamed onions and a 'tortilla' (potato cake) from the specials, that screamed rustic French food at us, but transported to a city hang out, way out of town with a club opposite, and gaggles of hipsters lounging on the pavement, effortlessly oozing cool, exchanging vinyl records, and casually blowing plumes of smoke into the night. Worth a trek, and they have a very decent cokctail list, with happy hour every night!

“Excellent”
Reviewed January 2, 2012

Visited Chez Justine on 30/12/11 and 01/01/12 both times it was excellent. Friendly staff who offer to speak English if you are struggling to speak in French (we were). Food choice was very good I had fillet of beef in a rossini sauce with foie gras on top one night and entrecote steak with a bernnaise sauce the other night. My girlfriend had ravioili, mozzarella and tomato and something else I cant remember. We had cheese to finish both nights and it was a selection of 5 very nice cheeses. Lovely decor inside the restautant with a good atmosphere. Strongly recommended.

“Great local bristro”
Reviewed August 25, 2011

Went there with family and friends and our table of 6 had a great meal. Wonderful service and food. My friend and I shared a cote de boeuf - it was huge. Perfectly cooked meat, sliced before it arrived (which I don't like), but it was just delicious.

Try and go there if you're a tourist - it's a real local's spot and well worth going out of of the way for.
