I stayed 2 nights, but it's all right keeping in mind the price other star hotel charge against this one. Everything was clean but still looked dirty (guess because of the old building structure and materials). Shower/Toilet was tiny, but it worked all right. My room was on the 4th floor so had to climb up or down the stairs, so entered the hotel room only at night 1-2 am, when I was fully sure I need to sleep now, no more going down.
Good:
Price, Location (metro station is close bay including Gare du Nord), Staff was ok, Nearby many restaurants/kebab centres
Bad:
No lift, no ventilation, small toilet, wifi sucked, no plug points near the bed (can't charge your phone looking into it)
Summary: Don't spend much time here, only come to sleep at night and go out in morning, it's an alright place to stay. The best part being the location and connectivity.
Keep in mind the neighbouring area was not looking that good with all the people looking like muggers and hookers(guess so at night 2 am girls won't just stand in the footpath and ask you for smokes) in the street around it.

Hi, as I write in the title, this hotel is for adventurous people, how like to be in the city central and don't want to stay to much in the hotel, only for sleeping. This is a small hotel in a small street next to the Bld de Strasbourg, which is the main road to Il de Cite (Notre Dame). So it's realy close to the Central, Louvre, Notre Dame, you can walk, if you need, and it is also close to Montmarte, which is a "have to see before you die"!
But, because I sad adventurous, it is not in the best side of Paris, poor side with a bit dirt on the street, but it is not worst than every other big city.
The metro station is on the corner (Saint Denise) only 100 m walk, which is absolutely very good, because you can go anywhere with metro in Paris, realy, if you have afraid of going with metro, you don't have to, it is safe and almost the best way to go far away realy fast and cheap! Next to the metro station enter, on the corner there is a KFC (forget it in Paris) and next to it there is a small sandwich shop (La MieCalime), try it, you will get the bet sandwich in paris for realy cheap. We meet some other tourist in the central they always ask us where had we got these big, beautiful sandwiches. :) Like
Back to the hotel, it is the cheapest hotel in the central, so don't think this will be the Hilton, it will not, but for take a shover and sleep well after a long day, it will be good. Sometimes there will be some noisy guest, because you can get room for one hour also, you know what I mean. :) The breakfast is not in the price, and a bit expensive, so I suggest to go out and find some cafe bar in the near, only 100 meter. You can get coffe, croassaint, everything, and much cheaper than in the hotel. Also you can feel Paris if you are outside in the street, it is fun.
In the reception they can speek a litle english, but not so much, it is better sometimes to talk with arm and feet, but it's ok. In the room there is nothing only a TV, if you want a hair dryer you have to ask it from the reception.
Almost forget, we was there at 21 of May 2012 but I can not choose earlyer datum just october, because I write the review now.
So if you want a low budget (3-4 days long) Paris trip, you can choose this hotel, it will be good for sleeping.

We stayed only 1 night and we basically just slept there, took a shower, had breakfast and set off for the airport. Room was clean, location great. We just expected better breakfast! All we got was a poor baguette, butter, jam and terrible coffee. Didn't feel like France at all. Otherwise all was fine.

good location, easy to get Metro or walk to the Notre Dam etc. Rooms are not comfortable, breakfast very poor, very small bathroom etc. Only staff are good. In our europe tour, it was our most expensive and worst hotel.

I stayed a night in this hotel with my mom. For a budget trip is an okay place to stay. We had 2 beds and our own bathroom with toilet and shower and we needed little more. There are several subway stations in walking distance and plenty restaurants that offer meals for a good price. Too bad there was no elevator so we had to climb 4 stairs to our room and the place is pretty noisy but for what you pay you certaintly have not a bad deal

Very basic hotel. We chose this hotel because the rate was cheap.
Location was within walking distance from the Strasbourg-Saint Denis metro station. The neighborhood was kinda scary at night so if you are a lone female traveller, better look for other accommodations. We didn not dare go out at night because there are many bystanders loitering around.
The room is not very clean. The bed cover looks like it hasn't been washed in ages. The hair of previous occupants were still clinging to it. We just removed it. The sheets were clean and replaced daily. The bathroom was on the small side. The shower drain was not working properly. It got flooded after 1 person has showered. So the next person has to wait for the water to subside before taking a shower.

Our room was located at the end of the hallway so the wifi signal was very weak. The wifi worked perfectly fine at the reception.

The hotel does not have an elevator. Although our room was on the second flloor, it was still difficult to carry our suitcase up the stairs. Don't except the hotel staff to help you.

The staff speaks limited English but we were able to get by.

I was a little hesitant to book this hotel for 39 euros a night. For what I paid for it I was pleasantly surprised. Hotel itself is fine very clean and my room was reasonably well presented the bed was comfy and there was a sink in the room.

The local area seemed a little rough but I did not experience any problems at all. The keys turning in the locks are a bit noisy at night but this is probably the worst thing about the place. The hotel is very close to metro and relatively close to Gard du Norde. The staff were polite and also looked after my bag on the last day after check in with no extra charge.

If you are on a budget I would highly recommend it.
