“Nice lunch stop near the Notre Dame Cathedral”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

My wife and I had been site seeing and visiting museums all morning and this little cozy place was a very nice spot and was just the ticket to take a load of and sit awhile have lunch, no hurries. Nothing went wrong with the meal or our experience. I give it an average because the food was so so, but very edible jusy the same, everything else was nice enough.

“Efficient and good food”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

We had been tramping from site to site and needed lunch, quickly. What luck, when we came across the typical Parisienne brasserie, mirrors, outside seating, smartly clad waiters and sparkling brass work! The 'Two Palaces' had it all including our pleasant waiter and the speedy service. The food was enjoyable and we considered our lunch as another Paris experience we had enjoyed.

“"Meh!"”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

After spending the morning at Notre Dame, the ND crypt, and the Sainte Chapelle my wife and I were tired, hungry and we just wanted some quiet. Thankfully, across the street was a cute brasserie. We stopped in and were seated almost immediately as the place was mostly empty. The waitress seemed polite enough and quickly took our order. From there it was definitely a "MEH!" experience.
The food took a very long time to come out but as we had a glass of wine we weren't bothered too much. The food was bland and exceedingly average, and then the waitress was no where to be found. I had to go looking for her and another waiter took our card
Over all, I was unimpressed and there are places nearby that are better

“Cozy, Friendly, Familiar”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

We found the Brasserie Les Deux Palais on a rainy day in May. We hoped to wait out the rain but were surprised to find breakfast-brunch was still available after 11:00. The restaurant can be a cozy fit and we ended up making friends with a couple from Utah. It's hard not to be friendly when you are sitting close together. It's the only place I found in Paris (admittedly I didn't find everything) that had a breakfast with fried eggs.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food, the waiter was helpful with out French and we made new friends. What could be better?

“Shocking Staff & Service!”
Reviewed June 7, 2014

We called into this place hoping to get a hot chocolate and have a sit down - it looked great so we were hoping the quality would be good. We weren't sure whether we wanted food or not, but had a look at the menu. The place was really busy and it took the waiter a long time to come across to us, so I popped to the toilet whilst my friend waited at the table to order our drinks. When I came back my friend was upset - the waiter had come across and when she asked for drinks had told her if we weren't going to eat we had to get out. Apparently he was very rude. We decided to leave, and the manager came across and spoke to us and assured us we could have just drinks and the waiter shouldn't have made that decision. We decided to stay as we were really were looking forwards to the hot chocolate - but when it came the cups were half full, and the original waiter banged them down on the table. We decided given his attitude not to order food but to just leave - when we asked for the bill this was also delivered in a surly fashion, and when we tried to pay by card one waiter told us we had to ask someone else, and then that waiter told us there was a minimum card payment of 16 euros (the drinks only came to 9 euros 60). We hadn't been told this before and there were no signs to indicate this, but in the end we just paid it rather than try to find a cash machine or order anything else. The original waiter's apron was filthy, his attitude horrendous and the other staff we spoke to (with exception of the manager) were rude and impatient - I would certainly not recommend this place!
