The receptionist at our hotel recommended this small bistro just off the rue de Rennes when we were looking for a place for a late lunch. They serve classic French bistro fare and have a dish of the day as well as a pasta of the day. My daughter had the steak tartare and loved it. I had the pasta special and enjoyed it with a glass of wine. The cafe had a mix of tourists and locals. This bistro is reasonably priced for the area (only about a five-minute walk from St. Germain des Pres) but keep in mind that this means lunch is around 30 Euros for one course, a glass of wine and a coffee for two people.
