We did 2 tours in one day one at 10 and one at 2:30. With a nice relaxing lunch in between. Now we don't mind walking at all so plan accordingly. We started with the Paris Highlights Tour. It was a great way to get a nice overview and tons of history from this fabulous city. This was easy walking and flat. Had lunch on the Champs Elysee and then hoped the metro to the Montmartre tour. This area is on a hill so be prepared, but with that comes some amazing architecture and views. Tons of history here as well and definitely a different feel than other areas so well worth it. There were 4 of us ages 13,16 and 40's and we all enjoyed our guides and the wonderful history and color they gave the area. Both while native Parsians, easy to understand English.
I took the Montmartre walking tour on a windy, rainy day and still enjoyed it. It was one of my favorite things I did in Paris. Our guide had so many local stories and so much information, it was well worth the up-hill walk.
We had a great experience with discovery tours with the Montmartre walking tour. Our tour guide Julian was very knowledgable, personable and friendly. We started at Blanche metro station and finished at Sacre Coeur. Approx 25 other people were on the tour and Julian made an effort to speak with everyone. Montmartre/Abesses is a great place to visit and I highly recommend doing this tour for the abundance of knowledge and history you learn about the area.
Lily was our tour guide on this interesting tour of Paris' famed artist quarters during a rain-filled evening.
We found Lily to be an earnest & sincere guide, even though the flair of a story-teller was missing. For me, well-recounted stories are what make the walk come alive for you, adding most of the value.
I took 2 tours, Paris Landmarks and Paris Night Tour both with Lucien. Both tours were equally informative about all sorts of antidotes - about the landmarks, habits of Parisians, famous people sightings etc which was fascinating. Lucien is very passionate about his native city which added a wonderful dimension that it wasn't just a job for him it was his life. A great insight into the city of Paris and its inhabitants. Would have love to have done more if I had more time. Next visit!
