I had read about the grand dames of Paris visiting this establishment to buy the macaroons. My wife bought me a small selection from the wide range displayed as a birthday treat.
By the way, if you're imagining the toasted coconut covered fondant slabs of sugar we fondly love in Scotland, these ain't the macaroons you're looking for.
Delicate, melt-in-the-mouth exteriors give way to soft gooey centres in a whole host of flavours and hues, so we had a moveable feast as we strolled the streets of the 7th.
A must buy for gifts to take home, but I'll bet you'll have a hard time not scoffing them as you wait for your plane....

Macaroons were very good - raspberry and chocolate and lemon cheesecake were favourites. Hot chocolate was also very good, Staff very pleasant.

Walked past this shop en route to the tram up to Sacre Coeur, and was offered a taste of their macaroon in the shop. It was decent so we bought a few and tried, the macaroons were quite decent and further search online we realised Christophe Roussel is indeed quite famous for macaroons. Slightly better value for their macaroons than Laduree and pierre herme, and you might want to try them when you are in Montmarte.
