This attractive restaurant, featuring traditional French food in charming period decor, was a nice find, espec. as it was less than one block from our rented apartment, whose owners highly recommended it. Food was excellent, with a smallish menu but our dishes, and those of the diners at an adjacent table, were well prepared and delicious. The house wine was better than expected, and reasonably priced. We'd definitely go back.

The location between Chatelet and Pont Neuf is a bit off the usual tourist track, and the restaurant hasn't yet made the pages of Rick Steve's book, so you are likely to find an available table if you stop by at the 7pm opening hour (Tue-Sat). Reservations accepted: 01 43 29 01 22. They also serve lunch, which we didn't try, Mon-Sat.

Be sure to visit the upstairs, whose low ceilings will remind you that in the 17th century, when this building was constructed, people were a lot shorter than they are today.

Visited here as a couple twof weeks ago early one evening. The food was not extravagent but honest and very flavoursome. The French onion soup was just to my liking and the confit of beef cheek superb. My fiancee was well pleased with her seafood and desert. Will visit in future. If you go upstairs, mind your head (if you're 6' plus like me!)

This is a touristy area and were warned by hotel concierge that we ought not expect too much. Ah he was right.

People have raved here about the French Onion soup...we both tried it and both knew we had made a mistake. Likewise the mains were forgettable - small portions of fish and pork, nothing to write home about. Finally I cannot remember the dessert...not a great sign.

But there are positives. The owner is a decent chap not overly interested in annoying you just getting on with service. Bread was plentiful, house wine decent and the best of all the upstairs really is charming, bult into an old 3 muskateers type oak beam attic. Not the worst of nights but as I was warned, the food is average and touristy, though in that area it may well be above average.

Traditional.
Nice location, decor is interesting with interesting decorations, exposed beams.
Food is traditional French, with 'plans' of starters mains and deserts.
Wine list is fair, as is service.
Overall, nice venue and good value

I booked through The Fork website. We decided on an entree and main for this meal (none of the desserts inspired us). DH had french onion soup and I had a foie gras, ham and chicken terrine followed by duck breast with orange while DH had fish served on a deconstructed ratatouille. We were very happy with our choices. The restaurant was lovely and cosy and the service good.
