Description: A unique place with a singular and elegant spirit, as well as a cosy and welcoming hideaway. Inspired by Dalí and designed by Philippe Starck, Restaurant Le Dalí creates a contemporary dialogue between the traditional Parisian classics and the Mediterranean flavourful cuisine.

Paris has many Grand Hotels and Le Meurice is one of them. Expectations should be quite high having Afternoon Tea in such an establishment, from service to food to ambiance. As much as the ambiance was quite "grand", the rest was disappointing. Service was slow, there were only 3 waiters for all the tables, we had to pour our own water, it took long for the order to be taken, beverages to be served and food to arrive. From a luxury hotel in Paris this is simply not good enough. And the Afternoon Tea is Euro 69. In HK this would get you a fantastic afternoon tea with amazing food and great service, in Paris it gets you nothing. I sometimes feel Europe is living in the old days, looking at what you get compared to Asia - not much. And even when not comparing, one can still expect great service in a luxury hotel in Paris and amazing pastries. The pastries and sandwiches for the Afternoon Tea were bland, nothing special, quite disappointing actually. Paris having such great pastry shops and known for food, again a disappointment.
There are good reviews on TA, many more focused on lunch and dinner than Afternoon Tea, but a restaurant like this needs to deliver at all meal periods. I highly recommend trying Afternoon Tea somewhere else, simply not worth it.

We’ve been there to celebrate a birthday, the atmosphere was blameless : the room is beautiful, you got live music, this will give you a very chic and bourgeois feeling.
The food was good, but the dessert was the best !
The service is irreproachable, waiters are really kind and understanding.

You will find on the picture the Saint-Honoré.

We booked in for afternoon tea at Le Meurice, from the time we entered the foyer to the time we left the service was outstanding, the food was just amazing and it was just an amazing beautiful place. The staff were very friendly, helpful and there was really nothing negative about the experience. It was well worth doing and you didn't feel rushed to finish and leave the dining room.

Had dinner here while in Paris, staff was great and very understanding of me being late to my reservation. Food was great, best Croque-Monsieur I’ve ever had. Beautiful hotel!

We reserved for afternoon tea and arrived about ten minutes early. The female member of staff said bonjour and we then indicated we had reserved for afternoon tea. She detected an English accent - although we live in France and our French, though not perfect is perfectly adequate for this situation - and said she would speak to us in English. This would have been okay but she clearly couldn’t remember how to ask for our names in English so we then responded again in French. We thought she was making enquiries about our table as she spoke to staff in the restaurant, was on her computer and making and taking phone calls, but, having left us standing there for about 5 minutes, she then returned to us and asked for our names .... a second time. Not a good start.

We were shown into the restaurant where I chose my seat at the table for two and the same member of staff suggested it was more appropriate for the ladies to sit inside the table, which I declined. We ordered champagne, Our waitress was very pleasant and appropriately asked whether we would like to speak French or English,

She returned with an almost empty bottle of champagne and half filled each of our glasses. She went away to get another bottle, which we wrongly assumed would be a new one as our glasses were already filled with pretty flat champagne. However, this bottle also contained the dregs which she emptied into our two glasses.

Afternoon tea arrived. Sandwiches were fine, tea was good, crème fraîche on the scones was quite acidic and not the clotted cream we associate with afternoon tea. Scones were cold and I have to say despite the chefs reputation the cakes were disappointing, a pear shaped item which was very good. A chocolate sponge and a rather unpleasant hard, nut cookie.

We have experienced afternoon tea in many places but thought this was very disappointing.
