“Average but clean”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

Me and my partner stayed here for 1 night in December whilst visiting Paris & before moving on to another hotel (see my other reviews) at arrival everything was so clean and a white theme applies throughout the hotel making it look very fresh. There is a small lift available. Our room was small but clean with white tiles, white bedding etc. Location is fab and close to restaurants and bars. The only downside is the shower. Its a small box in the corner which is level with the floor and only a curtain to pull round .. As you can imagine the water leaks out leaving a large puddle when you have a shower? Would suggest they have proper showers fitted or glass sliding doors and make them watertight as soaking tiles are a bit of a health hazard. The other downside was the bed. It was rather hard, bearable for a night i would say. We paid €185 euros for a night here and although it was clean and suited for a night i would say there is definitely more superior places to stay for the same amount of money. If they fixed the shower and the bed was more comfy i wouldn't have an issue re visiting this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and offered us the wifi code free of charge. Plenty of towels are supplied and They also supply adaptor plugs and other essentials at reception but this only runs for certain periods of time i presume, as my partner went down to get another adaptor around 8pm and was told "closed come back in morning" (my advice pack more than 1 lol). Would probably rate this hotel 7/10 for the points mentioned above. :)

Absolutely lovely hotel, very much enjoyed our two night stay here. Rooms are immaculate, shower excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. Very close to metro station, easy access to all the main tourist attractions. Would definitely stay here again!

I was extremely satisfied with my one night stay at BLC. The room was so clean, and the shower, bed and sound insulation were fantastic. Great room, good service and close to the metro. The area didn't have many highlights though.

We stayed for 4 nights from 20th December 2012. Check in was swift with wifi access explained to us (you need one ticket/code for each device). We booked our flights through Easy Jet and hotel via laterooms.com - doing this gives you a free ticket to Disneyland Paris for both parks. We then contacted the hotel prior to arrival, and upgraded to the larger room with a bath tub - we understand from the hotel that only one room has this option, which cost an extra 20E per night when booked directly (room 602), which had a view of the effiel tower from the room.

The hotel was clean, quiet and much larger than we had anticipated. We were given metro maps and advice the following morning. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro line (Charonne), or if you go the wrong way you can walk for 10 minutes and jump on the FaidheroeC haligney purple line instead. The staff at the Metro speak English, and were able to show us how to book the tickets (6E each per day will allow you to travel across the central area of Paris and you can hop on and off as much as you like).

The area felt safe at night time. There's lots of restaurants, bakeries, and small shops nearby. We found some great bakeries, selling beautiful cakes, pastries, breakfast items etc - for less than 10E you can get a good breakfast for two people - there's no need to pay the hotel price of 15E each - from what we saw the pastries at the hotel are left out uncovered, and frankly you can get lovely food from the nearby local shops.

There is no kettle in the room, so if you like this then maybe pack a travel kettle. Rooms were nice and warm, plenty of clean towels supplied.

This was our second trip to Paris, and in terms of getting to the local attractions and tourist bits - it's really very easy - most metro journeys we took were between 5 and 10 minutes.

There were a couple of excellant restaurants nearby that we'll give a mention to - they were very good and worth a visit with good vegetarian options alongside the meat heavy menus we came across:
Le Waly Fay (6,rue de Godefroy-Cavaignac) - which is a two minute walk from the hotel (look for the bamboo outside)

Le Chalet d'Avron (108 Rue de Montreuil, 75011) which is a 5-10 minute walk - a Swiss restaurant serving lots of lovely raclette and other dishes

Room Tip: Book direct with the hotel and upgrade to room 602 for a bath

We have just returned from a four night stay at this hotel and would reccommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Paris. The hotel was very clean and our room was a very good size as we had upgraded it to a deluxe one. The hotel is no more than a five minute walk to the nearest metro and we found that we were able to get around Paris easily either using the metro or on foot. Priorto our trip the only concern we had after reading some reviews was about the distance from the main Paris attractions for someone visiting Paris for the first time. This was not an issue for us as first time visitors to Paris and managed to get to everywhere we wanted to visit easily.

We were staying on the sixth floor and could even see the top of the eiffel tower from our window. The staff were very helpful even ringing up the shuttle bus service we had arranged for our return to the airport. All amenities were very good.

The hotel staff don't wear uniform... so well you need to guess who works for the hotel. Despite of this little issue, this hotel is quite comfortable and clean. A bit far from main train station, but close to restaurants, self-service laundry. Good for short stay

We stayed at BLC for two nights. The hotel is great. It is well equipped. The rooms are all in white. Very clean and modern. En suite bathrooms. Very helpful staff. They told us which tube tickets we should buy, where to eat and what we should see. The breakfast was delicious and I would recommend to pay extra for it (we paid 20 Euros extra in total). The hotel has a bar, so you can taste some French wine at any time for about 4 Euros per glass. The hotel is situated in Charonne. It takes about 20 minutes by tube to get to the main tourist attractions and Gare du Nord if you travel with Eurostar. The tube station is only 2 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is very close to Pere Lachaise Cemetery. Overall great hotel for a reasonable price. We will definitely use it again.
