“MASSIVE SERVES - friendly staff :)”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

My sister and I ate here tonight; we were actually looking for a few other cafes we found on tripadvisor but couldn't find them, and it started raining so we took a seat here. We were glad we did! My sister had the french onion soup and duck a'larange (both delicious) and I had the salmon herring style (really liked this) and the Burgundy beef pot. The serves of the entrees were generous, but the mains are massive! I couldn't finish the Burgundy beef pot. Busy place for a Sunday night, we were seated at 10pm and didn't leave until after 11:30. Our blonde waitress was friendly and really nice, with good english. For dessert I had the "pie of strawberry with sunshine of pistachio" or something like that from the english menu - FYI it is a custard strawberry tart!

Great big pizza! nice location, not too far from the Eiffel tower. Seating indoors and out. Modern, clean and washrooms to use.

“Very good rainy day meal”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

My wife, son and I have just returned from a late afternoon snack at Carmine Cafe. It has been a rainy Sunday in Paris and all grocery stores were closed. Nearby our apartment rental was the Carmine Cafe. It looked warm and inviting, although slightly empty but that may have the day, time, and weather. We ordered a "pichet" of a Saint Emilion red with pizza and frites. OK, maybe not the most healthy meal but it beckoned. The waiter was great (we think his name is Vince) and spoke much better English than I do French. He was helpful and good natured - not your typical stereotypical Parisian waiter. The pizzas were very good. The fries were great. The wine was quite drinkable at a decent price (~18 euros) and went well with the pizza. Would we go back....oui!

“Rude staff, Medicore food - would not return”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

We visited for dinner on a Friday night. We were hopeful at first, as the place was relatively busy and we had read good reviews. We stood at the door waiting to be seated for quite some time, and when no one greeted us, we sat at a small table against a wall. After being ignored for about 10 minutes, we were getting up to leave when the rude bartender with the long, greasy ponytail yelled over the bar and asked if we had been seated there. We replied that no, no one seated us so we took the nearest table. He then told us we had to move (why?) - and pointed at a table two down. Not sure what the point of this was. All it did was draw attention to us, and make us move for no real purpose. I wish we had left, but we moved tables and tried to settle in. We ordered wine, a salad and a pizza. None of which were very good. The entire time we were eating, the rude bartender and several servers were sitting at a table right next to us counting receipts and talking loudly. Why would you move us to that table just to sit right next to us and ruin the ambience of our meal?! It was beyond frustrating. We could not get out of there fast enough. Rude staff, gross food, overpriced. Avoid.

“Fun Spot to dine & then see Eiffel at night”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

We had a great time at Carmine Cafe and the food was very good. This restaurant benefits greatly from a terrific staff who epitomize team work & positivity. We're sure we found one review or item that said Carmine Cafe came with a view of the Eiffel Tower - NOT true, but after dinner you can walk a short distance for a great view of the Eiffel lit up at night. On the hour, Eiffel lighting includes some dazzling extra flare. Worth seeing!
