“Spot on”
Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

We went to Paris in Feb '13 and wanted a typical traditional french experience. With Oil lanterns, old fashioned decor, pictures and a dusty piano in the corner reminiscent of the days when Picasso walked the streets of the Montmarte Le Bon Bock is as authentic as it gets. The food is also pretty good. Well executed simple French classics ( confit of duck & creme brûlée etc ) at a very reasonable set price of 24 euros and served by very friendly staff that accommodated our limited French. We really wanted an authentic French restaurant and this was spot on.

“Fantastic little Bijoux!!”

This little restaurant is fantastic, the painting inside are lovely all of the Toulouse Lautrec Time, it is charming. The food is simple, but good. The service is ok. Would go there just for the experience of the surroundings.

“Oldest restaurant in the Montmartre region”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

This restaurant claims to be the oldest restaurant in the area and it is situated about 300 metres from Montmartre. We were looking for a place to eat after having visited the crowded Montmartre. We actually went to a small restaurant next door but after waiting for about five minutes for the waiter to finish his phone conversation, we decided to leave and saw the quirky Le Bon Bock just next door.

Great choice, the place has atmosphere and must be something extraordinary at night. Lunch was very good, a bit pricy but worth it. Authentic french cuisine with authentic french baguette.

I was not brave enough to order escargots, settled on the chicken with potatoes and white sauce. Portions are good and very filling.

Worth a visit.

“Great place for New Years Eve!”
Reviewed January 4, 2013 via mobile

We were lucky to get a reservation (made through La Fourchette) about four weeks prior for New Years Eve. It was cramped, hot, loud, fun, atmospheric and perfect! The four of us were happy with our food - a set menu - and even though the cost didn't include drinks, were supplied with champagne to start, a between course aperitif and a brandy to finish! The piano-accordion player had all the French speakers singing, and we felt it was a great place to see in the new year. The staff were very helpful, squashed a lot of people into a small place, and did their best to ensure a great night. While it wasn't a standard meal, we can recommend this place for a real taste of Paris.
