“Really not great!!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2013

In a city with such high quality restaurants and produce this place is just not up to scratch.
The food is only just average and some of the staff are really very rude, even if you speak French.
Go somewhere else.

“We'll be back”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2013

Le Petite Marcel was listed as his first choice by our apartment landlord Pascal and was recommended to us as his 'local'. We checked it out on trip advisor and was put off by the reviews. We finally ventured in on our last day in Paris and sat across from the bar. Great bistro decor and atmosphere, we loved it, very traditional, the waiters were engaging and full of energy. The chicken curry was tasty and while the burger was a little under done they happily took it back and second time round was perfect. The next morning we were back for a real expresso standing at the bar for just 1 Euro. We're looking forward to trying their steak tartare and onion soup plus a few more coffees at the bar when we return in October.

“All fake!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

the worst place to be ...ok nice guys , service ok ; the place look charming ...but the food is average and the bill!! Watch out! They charge us drinks we never had , we complaint about our Cote de Boeuf very poor quality meat, still charging us for it even if we have left it on the plate, the best part is : sorry we don't take credit cards! Lol! They ask me to go to the nearest cash point and redraw the 150 euro for the bill! It was about 11pm..! I start to be very argumentative (like them) and ask to see the boss; guess what he never turn up! in the end they manage, some how ?? to take payment with my card! This what they call in French : "un atrape Nigo" .Paris is full of this sort of place , really disappointed by the lake once again this typiclly a fake bistros type! Never go back ..

“A Nice Choice Near The Pompidou”

The service was fine, the food - I had the duck - was very good. Your view is the passageway with so many people wandering past - what can be more fun in Paris?

“My favourite place to eat in Paris!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2013

I go to Paris regularly and never ever miss going back to Le Petit Marcel for a set lunch or dinner. It's fantastic value for the money, with a full 3 course meal. Each dish is generously served, beautifully presented and very tasty.

The location is fabulous, on the great street Rambuteau and very central.

The waiters are fun, friendly and helpful and I love the heaters outside so I can still sit on the terrace even in winter.

I highly recommend this place to any tourist or business traveler looking for a lovely French meal.

Bon appétit!
