We had a difficult time finding out when this restaurant is open and once we had a reservation - actually finding the restaurant. It is on a very tiny street which is difficult to find at night. As we sat eating our meal, we saw taxis driving by, missing the address. Even people who were walking would pass by and then backtrack once they realized they had walked by the bistro. As of the day we had dinner there (March 7, 2011), it was open for dinner only from 7 - 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday. There are no lunch or weekend hours.
It is a small bistro and reservations are a must. There is a choice of only two entrees and two plats. We both had crab ravioli for the starter and halibut with vegetables for the main couse. The other choices that day were Japanese style (raw) beef for the starter and duck for the main course. We did not have dessert. With a bottle of wine, the meal cost 104 €, including tip. The food was very tasty and the service was professional. It was one of our better meals we had in Paris.

We enjoyed a great meal--new style cooking with fresh ingredients--cooked to perfection. THe choices are limited to two per course, but we enjoyed both of the options at each course. Small but stylish location.
Would definitely return!

The restaurant was beautiful and the waitress was a true professional. She described each plate as it hit the table and had an extensive knowledge of all the ingredients. The wine was delicious, the music was relaxing and the meal was the best of my vacation. To top it off the meal was not expensive at all. Highly recommended.

...because it's hard enough to get reservations without everyone in the world knowing about it But I can't help it. Frenchie is incredible. And I'm not someone who writes reviews. I am picky and I can easily say this restaurant is perfect. I've eaten there twice now and my boyfriend is a friend of the chef, who, I'm happy to say, is an awesome person - no ego there, just a cook who loves to feed people amazing, fresh, creatively crafted food. Already have a date to go back.

We've eaten at some pretty fantastic restaurants in Paris over the years - Spring(3x), La Grande Cascade, Nomiya, Jules Verne, Les Papilles, La Regalade St Honore - & Frenchie moves to the head of the list.
This tiny little rest/bistrot seats probably 30 patrons max and should you be so lucky as to snag one of those 30 seats, you will be rewarded with a meal that will simply blow you away.
We went for lunch & had a choice of 2 entrées, 2 main courses & 2 desserts for a very reasonable €28. The rather limited menu is due to the brilliant chef's market fresh approach . What is "en saison" is likely to appear on the menu.
Since the menu will change daily, going over what we ate wouldn't be necessarily relevant to what you might expect to have. We overheard someone go over the pass station to speak to the chef & he mentioned that he recently ate at the French Laundry & Per Se in the US and that his meal at Frenchie beat them both hands down (&probably for about 1/10th the cost!). A lovely lady seated next to us was celebrating her daughters 18th anniversaire and she mentioned that this is one of the most difficult tables to get in all of Paris.
Go there if you can, for lunch if that's all you can afford, but go. You'll not regret it.
