“Catching up with Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2014

Having arrived by Eurostar at Gare du Nord, we took a taxi (about 25 euro) to the Le Petit Paris on St Jacques across the Seine on the Left Bank. Not having stayed there before, we were pleased to see its surroundings as we crossed at Notre Dame, the Sorbonne, Cluny museum, and Pantheon. The hotel entrance is directly on the street so there was a rush to disembark from the taxi but clearly this was no concern.(Interestingly, the cab driver mentioned he had heard very positive comments about the hotel). The hotel is small but the welcome was large and warm from Laurent who was at the front desk to greet us. Our room was at the very top on the 5th floor but not so high that we could avoid the classic Paris view of rooftops and backyard terraces. Small but well appointed, the room served us well for 3 nights. Breakfast was an excellent assortment from eggs to baked goods, fruits, yogurts, etc...the usual. All supported by service including excellent coffee. The front desk provided excellent insight into transportation ;e.g. good bus connection from close behind at the Luxembourg Gardens to Eiffel Tower, etc.

Visited this little hotel for a three night stop in July 2014. As the name indicates, it is a small, but you don’t feel in your room, or at least not my room. Perfect bathroom for Paris standards. Had a queen size bed which was great. Lowe TV, you see that everywhere. All together a great little hotel if you want to stay in Latin Quarter. I would come back.

After staying in various locations in Paris, this will now be my go to hotel. Very easy to get to from CDG with the RER. Within walking distance to St Germain, Pantheon, Notre Dam and many cafes and bars. The rooms are small but that is just the way it is in Paris. These rooms are so nice it didn't really matter! The bathroom was beautiful. The breakfast area was very nice and if you get a good deal that includes breakfast it is great, but not worth paying for if its not included. The coffee and tea out every afternoon is a great added touch after a long afternoon. The staff were very helpful in every way. I will recommend this place to anyone heading to Paris and will stay there again.

Room Tip: We had a room that the windows opened to the small interior courtyard. If we opened windows we coul...

while the hotel is clean and well situated, i must start by saying that the room i stayed in , room 104 was not made for a grown man and definately not for a couple . the room is petite by any standard. 10 x 10 feet. the shower and sink are in one room and the toilet is in another. the toilet area is smaller than on an airplane. i would love to give give this hotel a higher rating however when a room and bathroom are smaller than my closet at home i must call a spade a spade and this is a petite spade. if you are a single traveller , this hotel will be fine, however for a couple, i would seek out accomodations elsewhere. on a side note. the blond guy working the night shift was snotty at best. when asked for 2 more towels, his remark was " arent there towels in the room"? i felt like slapping him. i wouldnt have asked for towels if they werent needed. on a closing note, i am so happy to be home and not staying another night in hotel le petit paris.

Room Tip: avoid room 104

There were so many excellent reviews on Tripadvisor that we were actually a bit disappointed when we got there. Positive: situated on walking distance from a lot of interesting sites, RER station very nearby, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Negative: tiny (I mean: TINY) room, safe did not work (they knew about the problem but apparantly are not able to solve it), 2 seperate beds which could not be pushed together, underneath the bed sheet there was a sort of bed cover with plastic underneath which made it sweaty during the night. Tip: there is a very nice little cafe very near the hotel (when you leave go right) which serves excellent breakfast for half the price of breakfast in the hotel (which was also pretty good by the way).

This was an excellent little hotel in a prime location. Very close to the Pantheon and St. Germain and Luxembourg Gardens. Great little patisserie and cafe and bars within 1-2 blocks. The hotel staff were fantastic! We arrived at 8am from the US and they checked us in about 8 hours early to allow us to get a nap and make the most of our first day in Paris. They always greeted us with a smile and tried to help in every way possible. We didn't partake of the breakfast but I went down each morning and ordered coffee for 2 and was presented with a silvery tray with a carafe and cups and everything we needed for a romantic morning coffee in bed together. Room was on small size but normal for a big city hotel. The queen size bed was soft with very nice linens - dreamy! Spent most of our time out in Paris anyway so room size was a don't care. The shower was pretty awesome: water pressure was intense, the rain fixture in the ceiling was like standing under a waterfall, and the tiny LED lights in the tile made you feel like you were showering under the stars - well designed! Complimentary afternoon coffee service was a highlight after being gone walking or working all day, a little pick me up sitting in the beautiful lobby was just right. We are excited we found this gem and recommend highly and look forward to coming back. The only con was the WIFI was non-existent in our room so working, playing, social media while in our room was impossible.
