“5 Star Service from a 3 Star Hotel!”
Reviewed April 25, 2011

We were visiting Paris for our honeymoon and decided to choose Hotel Gramont on the basis of the very positive reviews it had received on Trip Advisor. I must say that we were extremely pleased with our choice and had a truly memorable stay. For us there are three key reasons why this is great hotel: 1) Very central location – Not just for Paris’ many cultural attractions but also for a wide variety of restaurants which are within a short walk. 2) Beautiful accommodation – Fantastic job of refurbishing the 19th Century building, décor and finish of our room was outstanding, cleaned daily. 3) Excellent service from staff – Special thanks to the reception staff (particularly Sanda and Aurélie) who really went out of their way to make this a special holiday for us, even arranging free champagne to toast our marriage! Very generous. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend Hotel Gramont and will certainly be returning again in the future!

Dear guests,
First of all we would like to thank you very much for your sweet and very kind review about our hotel. It was all our pleasure welcoming you for your special even in our hotel. We just love to have guests in our hotel which has to celebrate something. In this case we try to help them in our special individual way to spent a wonderful moment here in Paris. We are happy to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. As we are a small hotel we try to welcome our guests more than friends for which we want to take care very well.
Of course we would be very happy to welcome you back some day in the future for your next trip to Paris.
In the meantime we wish you all the best and good luck for your future together.

It's difficult to understand this hotel's high ranking in Tripadvisor. The charming staff are first class, but all their charm and helpfulness can not compensate for the tiny rooms and the fact that they all front on to a noisy street. A hotel is mainly for sleeping in but when you have to shut the windows to reduce the traffic noise, it soon becomes too stuffy and you have to open them again. The rooms are simply furnished and decorated, but very clean. The bathroom is small, but everything works. Free wi-fi is a strong and steady signal. Breakfast, in the windowless, whitewashed celler is OK, with a never-changing cold buffet and an egg boiler.
There are good restaurants within easy walking distance and the printed list of recommendations is useful and led to no disappointments.
You can walk from the hotel to many of the leading destinations. The Roissy Bus to/from CDG airport has its terminus at the back of Opera Garnier, five minutes walk.
There's nothing much the staff could do to make their hotel any better,, but this is simply not a top choice hotel, particularly in its price range.

Dear guests,
We would honestly thank you very much for your remarks. It is important to know what our guests think about our hotel and of course we always try to improove our service. Of course as you said we are not able to change the hotel facilities. But as I wrote allready in a previous message everyone has to keep in mind that we are a 3 star hotel with facilities of a 3 star hotel.
But we try very much to give the best service we can to our guests because as we are just a small hotel our guests are not just numbers to us. They are very important to us and we want to make them feel that. We are happy that you apreciated our service and the small special things like restaurant list etc.
But as we alwasy try to make better we well noted your remarks and we are thinking how we could change for the better.
We wish you all the best and good luck.
Kind regards from Paris

I just spent 2 nights in Hotel Gramont (6th, 7th Apr) and was truly impressed with Sandra, Maxime and this other gentleman whom I'm sorry I did not get his name. Truly sincere and helpful and ever patient with our enquiries for directions, recommendations (food), bookings (moulin rouge, restaurants). Location of hotel was great too, I did not find it far to walk to Lafayette, Lourve, Seine River (about 10 - 15 mins on average) etc. I will definitely stay at Gramont again if I am back in paris for leisure =) well done to the Gramont team!

PS: I got the double room on the 4th floor so while there was no view, the room was clean (& shower works) and sleep quality was good.

Our 1st trip to Paris last week and we fell in love with the city and the Gramont as well ! A perfect 8 night stay. We took a quad for my wife, mysef and our teen son, Liam. Rm 501-502 have separate doors as well as internal door and TWO baths. With its two large queen beds, two younger children certainly could have taken his room but I recommend the quad for a teen traveling with parents. In Paris, in the age of the weak dollar, you mustn't confuse "cheap" with value. The Gramont is a GREAT VALUE. The rooms are comfortable and spotless and housekeeping keeps it that way. The staff? What can I say about the GREAT, multi-lingual staff so expertly headed by manager Sandra. They are friendly, capable, and extremely service-oriented. Sandra herself is a TREASURE. Her list of restaurants is excellent,(don't believe that this quiet section of Paree doesn't have fine ones) they make reservations, arrangements for day trips, and Sandra's advise is outstanding. As good as the pricy shops near the hotel are, she also knows where to shop for sales which wowed my bargain-hunting wife (while father and son hit yet another museum) The location is a 10 minute walk from the Louvre and Royal Gardens and a slew of lively spots yet is supremely quiet. For farther afield, the Metro stop is 5 minutes from your door. As much as we loved Sandra, I would be remiss if I didn't mention her great team by name: Auriele, Pierre, Arthur, Xavier and Maxime. They superbly carry out her guest-pampering philosophy. I will end by merely saying that planning an 8 night trip to a city you haven't visited previously, no matter how charming, can be a daunting experience. BOOK with the Gramont Opera and give no second thought. Your task will be completed, no further worrying necessary.

We knew this was special hotel when we received a warm and gracious welcome from the hotel manager Sandra. As usual, after transatlantic flight we were exhausted. Sandra offered chocolate croissants that were restorative! Later in our stay we met Sandra''s assistant Aurelie who was similarly gracious and helpful. Their suggestions as to neighborhood restaurants were perfect. The Gramont's shuttle service made the trip to and from Charles de Gaulle airport easy. The Gramont is a small low key hotel. The hotel has recently been renovated. Room and bathroom were comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bed was so comfortable we missed a planned trip to Versailles because we couldn't get up on time.

Hotel Gramont has a number of characteristics I am starting to recognize in tripadvisor favorites: it is really clean, has excellent service, and offers good value for your money.

Location isn't necessarily all that important in Paris given the quality of public transport, but Hotel Gramont is in a very good location. It is on a quiet street but lots of shopping & cafes are five minutes' walk north and the Louvre/Tuileries are ten minutes south.

I stayed in the "Duplex" room, which has lots of light and a roof deck with a table and chairs. Big, comfortable bed. Neat room. Slept very well.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel offers free Wi-fi, which I LOVE to see in a European hotel. Thanks!

I got the room at a discount but feel that even at full price it is good value for Paris. I would definitely stay at Hotel Gramont Opera again.

I have never completed a review on a hotel before and I felt that this hotel was 5 stars all the way.
Hotel Gramont is a superb hotel that is really well placed for the Opera, the Louvre (10 mins walk) and nearby shopping in Boulevard Haussmann. The room we had was lovely and the breakfast was great value.
However what makes the difference here is the staff - they are absoloutely first class. My wife and I were made feel very welcome right from our arrival by Sandra who could not be more helpful. She and Aurelie were extremely friendly made our stay so enjoyable.
Merci beaucoup!
We will return to Paris and stay in this hotel.!!
