“Good Value”
Reviewed May 12, 2013

Hotel Paris France is clean and well-maintained. Our up-graded room was larger than most you'd find in France, but the extra room did not inspire the management to use it to include such luxuries as a second waste paper basket or luggage holders. And if you want toiletries or Kleenex, bring your own. There is good wi-fi in the room.

There are 7 floors, and the poor, little elevator can hold only two or three people as it labors up and down. At busy times, you can either walk or wait. Breakfast is extra for 6 Euros per person, but on the street you wouldn't get a small glass of orange juice, a small baguette and a coyssant, and as many cups of coffee or hot chocolate as you want for that price--although the coffee would have to be better!k Several people brought fruit and other goodies to supplement what the hotel offered.

There are many restaurants within walking distance. (Where in Paris are there not several restaurants within walking distance?) And the Metro station is only a couple of blocks away. Compared with the prices charged by other hotels in the city, this one offers good value.

I enjoyed my stay here. Close to the Metro but I walked here from Gare du Nord just to see what was along the way. Lots of shops on my way to the hotel. Enough activity to not be scared if walking by yourself late after dinner.

The staff was friendly and helpful and let me borrow an adapter for my charger. They showed me where I could experience a cassoulet at the ever cool restaurant Bistrot de L'oulette a few streets over on Rue des Tournelles - it was delicious. A bakery was located right below my window four floors down. I ate at Cafe Resto around the corner on Rue Froissant but I didn't eat anything French, I ate a carbonara dish which is exactly how I make mine - with a raw egg yolk dropped right in the middle of the dish.

The elevator up to the room was the tiniest elevator I ever saw. I could fit myself and my rolling carryon bag, nothing more. I watched a couple go up one at a time. The room itself was fine for me, not really small. I was able to open the windows wide open and look down on the street and the buildings across the way - gorgeous! The shower did not work for this American girl. I think my ten minute shower was ten minutes too long as the drain cover started floating when the water didn't drain fast enough. And looking up at the ceiling I could see plastic slats not properly placed so I could see beyond that and stuff like that pretty much gets me spooked. Other than that, the room did it's job. It was clean and airy and near everything I needed to be close to.

A great location near lots of great bars and restaurants and a metro station (Saint Sebastien). The room was quite small but clean and ideal for a short break. I enjoyed the free buffet continental breakfast which was topped up regularly with pastries and juice. The staff were very friendly and helpful and said hello everytime we walked into reception. It was a 15 minute walk to the river and a few minutes more to the Notre Dame. Bastille is a 10 minute walk. The only negative was the walls were so thin we could hear the conversations of the people in the rooms next to ours. This is why I only give this hotel four and not five stars. It wasn't a problem for our weekend stay as who spends too much time in their room in Paris, but it could be an issue if people come back late at night and are talking, but we didn't experience this. I just worried that we might be heard in the rooms next to ours as we got in around 1am both nights. I didn't notice any noise from traffic outside apart from normal traffic noise in the day and we were on the fifth floor. I didn't hear any traffic noise at night ,so I can't understand why people on the floor above us (as pointed out in another review) would hear traffic noise?! My husband surprised me with a stay in Paris for our first anniversary and I wasn't disappointed by Paris or the hotel. Overall a nice little no frills place and ideal if you want to stay in Le Marais!

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter.

This is a small, rather formulaic hotel in Le Marais. Well located for attractions, restaurants and the Metro. Rooms are clean, comfortable and very small. Ours, in the attic on the 6th floor was hot so we needed the window open - not ideal as the street outside is busy and noisy at night.
Rooms are accessed by a staircase (106 steps to the 6th floor) or by the smallest lift ever, two average sized people can fit in or one person and a suitcase. This is not the place if you are larger or have restricted mobility.
The buffet breakfast was good, service was good, staff helpful.

Room Tip: Avoid the top floor

Dear guest,

Well thank you for your comment. We are sorry that you found your room to small but you know in Paris rooms in typical hotels are usally not bigger. But maybe for your futur stay in Paris i could propose you to book a double room more spacious.

We are glad that you enjoyed our breakfast offer and the availability of our team.

Your sincerely ,
Firdaous

This is a well placed hotel, close to the Marais and several Metro stations. The room I had was small (unusually there was no door between the bedroom and toilet! But this was not a mjaor problem). The staff members are very helpful and polite - during my stay there the heating would not work, so an extra electric heater was supplied immediately. The breakfast is adequate though not extensive; if you really want something more substantial there are any number of cafes nearby (including one right next door!). All in all, an economical choice of hotel to explore this beautiful city.

Inexpensive hotel in a great location: easy walk to several different metro lines and to Bastille, Place de Vosges and Islands (Notre Dame). Yes, the rooms are small but it's a hotel in central Paris and if you want a bigger room you'll have to pay a fortune or stay further out.

This hotel does offer a few things that are rare in Paris: a kettle in the bedroom, continental breakfast (with drinkable coffee!) and a free packed lunch if you book directly with the hotel (it's a prepacked sandwich and a bag of prepared fruit with a bottle of water: not exciting, but very handy).

Rooms are warm and comfortable, bathrooms small but spotless. Lovely staff. Excellent choice if you're on a city break and value location over space. Lots of bars/restaurants nearby makes it a bit noisy, but you're in the city centre and that;'s what you get! heartily recommended.

What I really liked about this hotel was the location. I didn't feel like a tourist in France, but rather a local who was guided into a new territory. The hotel itself is not the traditional touristy, five star hotel, but rather a cute, quaint boutique that is tucked away in Paris' most hip, young and fun locations, le Marais. When I say fun, I don't mean girls gone wild, but the location definitely suited the fashionista in me. It provided all the popular vintage shops and one of a kind boutiques that are in the neighborhood, also a wide range of restaurants and cafe'(s). The staff also made for a great stay. Panduka was very accommodating, searching for the least expensive tours and most happening clubs in the city for my girlfriend and I. His genuine smile was always welcoming and warm. Along with Panduka were his co-workers who also made my experience there wonderful. All in all, I'd book again and will the first chance I get to return to that amazing city, Paris.
