This outdoor restaurant is in the stunning Bois de Boulogne setting. Our experience didn't start out well, as the tables were placed so close to each other it was physically impossible to be seated. It took a few minutes but finally our table was relocated to a roomier space. Why should that have been necessary? Our servers were very polite and were working hard but seemed disorganized. We ordered a bottle of wine and were brought one glass. We asked for bread twice before receiving it. We ordered a large bottle of water and received a small one. We noted that others around us were receiving the wrong orders so it was apparent something was amiss. Our food was fine even though it appeared to have come off a production line. Other than the difference between fish and fowl, the plates were identical. We concluded that it must be the end of the season and everybody is tired. That's fine, but not if we are expected to pay premium prices, which we did. Main course plus dessert with no starter was €40 per person. Wine and water were, of course, extra. The rest rooms were not clean and looked as if they had been vandalized, even though there was the initialed sign on the door indicating regular inspections. For people on a budget or with high expectations, a better alternative in the Bois de Boulogne might to bring a lunch for a nice picnic on the grass.

As a group of 12 francophile culture vultures we had just had a guided visit to the Chateau (wonderful) We had no previous knowledge of this restaurant but needed to eat speedily before completing our visit and going to Malmaison. On first sight we were amazed there was no body there, it was a Wednesday, but lacking any where else we agreed to eat there as a group. It looked more expensive than we wanted but we were a captive audience. We were treated well, they set up a table for us in a separate room, and on being told we were on a very tight schedule were most helpful. Mostly our group chose the entrees, the only disapointing one was the Tomate with mozzarella, it was too cold and unripe and flavourless. However everything else was wonderful from the foie gras to the mille feuilles and the sea brem which my husband and I ate was beautiful, moist hot and with gorgeous pommes maison. The desserts were great, except there was only one serving of macaroons! The only negative aspect was the one "loo" for everybody, with no towels to dry your hands.

The nightclub on the weekends is fabulous--the party goes all night. It has great music, a really great outdoor space, and pretty people. To be sure to avoid hassle at the door, go to the 35 euro flat fee buffet beforehand. The food is really decent (although not worth 35 euro), and there is plenty of variety. Honestly, you'd pay cover anyways-- might as well pay a little more to get a meal out of it and skip the line.

Le cadre est magnifique ! Dommage, le repas est simple pour un prix élevé et le service ne donne pas envie de revenir...
