“Pleasant Romantic Dinner”
Reviewed August 23, 2012 via mobile

My girlfriend and I visited here after intending to go to Refuge des Fondues, but not liking the look of the place. 3 courses for either 14 or 20 Euros depending on which menu you choose, each well cooked and portioned, and wine reasonably priced. A genuinely pleasant evening - just be prepared to speak some francais, as the waiter didn't speak much English!

“Tres bien”
Reviewed May 20, 2012

I ate at this restaurant earlier today and after reading a review which stated overpriced ( this is paris) was quiet shocked. I found this restaurant to be of excellent value and good food. My husband and I had the 14.50 euro menu, I had the avocado salad, he had the tomato and mozarella salad as the Entree, he had the steak (not the best but still good) the chips were like proper english homemade chips not those typical thin french fries. I had the tagliatelle bleu which was delicious, for dessert he had chocolate crepe and I had the camembert which was very nice, we had a 50cl pitcher of red wine, two coffees and the bill was about 44 euros, The atmosphere was very good, the clientele was predominantly tourists, two French families, one American and two tables of English but then you are in the tourist area, the Sacre Couer is just up the hill.

“Over-priced and below overage”
Reviewed March 30, 2012

Expensive, and distinctly mediocre food - we went before catching a play at the Theatre de L'Atelier, and a fairly tasteless onion soup with no cheese. We spent 45 euros for three dishes in total - the soup, a watery tartiflette (basically boiled potatoes with a cheese sauce) and a marginally better raclette salad - plus a carafe of wine. The service was friendly enough, but it still felt like a tourist trap.

“Overall average meal”
Reviewed March 29, 2012

Went to this restaurant largely because of the high TripAdvisor rating. Food was ok but not memorable compared to other restaurants in the same price range in Montmatre we have enjoyed in the last 3 weeks. My lamb with home fries had no sauce to complement the food.

“Excellent value, fresh and delicious home cooking”
Reviewed March 5, 2012

Went there last night after wandering around in the rain for what felt like ages, and were we glad! We opted for a set menu, 20 EUROS each for 3 courses. The boyfriend had frogs legs, swordfish and tarte tatin, and I went for Fois Gras, Steak au Povre and tarte tatin. Each course was incredibly generous, fresh and tasted amazing. The price was excellent, the service very good indeed and the cooking was generally tremendous. Wish we'd found this restaurant earlier in our trip! The beer is fairly expensive (as it seems to be everywhere in Pairs), at about 5EUROs for a bottle, but the wine was cheap and good, and rounded the meal off very well indeed- highly recommended for couples looking for a cheap evening without compromising on quality of produce.
