“great view and good lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2013

had a very pleasant sunday lunchtime club sandwich poulet and frites here with a pretty good glass of cotes du rhone. Friendly staff and a good coffee to finish.

Enjoyed watching the dancing in the square!

“Pass on this one...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2012

A great location, but the food was very disappointing. My husband got the special of the day, tagliatelle, and found it to be too rich, although flavorful. I ordered the Salade Fermiere, which was barely edible. The chicken tasted old and was quite dry, while the potatoes were really greasy and mushy, almost like they had been put into the oil while it was still cold snd them just cooked in the oil. The tomatoes were flavorless. There are so many great restaurants in the area, I can't think of any reason to eat in this one.

“Lovely place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 14, 2012

Friendly service and delicious food at very reasonable price. My family loves the place. The only complaint we have is the tight space. But according to our experiences that happens to most restaurants in Paris.

“A little pricey for breakfast”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2012

Pleasantly situated near to Rue Mouffetard Market and perhaps this was reflected in prices. Breakfast was reasonable but nothing to write home about - just over 83 Euros for 6 people. Good atmosphere, however, with plenty of seating.

“Perfect Parisian Cafe”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2012

I am conflicted writing this. On the one hand, I want to keep this gem for myself and on the other, I want to support them. So if you go please be polite, maybe speak a little french? Desolee je ne parle pas francais. Would be enough since they speak English.

Anyway, this is the quintessential Parisian cafe. It has a great view over the foot of Rue Mouffetard, the oldest Market in the city. Get a seat early on a Saturday or Sunday morning to watch the hustle in the market and listen to people since Edith Piaff songs. Locals even dance to the music.

The food is good and reasonable priced for Paris. The Croque Monsieur is one of the best in the city since it is made with fresh bread. The service is good but do not expect American style service. There are maybe 2 waiters for the whole place, in the US there would be 5 or more. They are busy and rushing. Don't be afraid to flag them down if you want something and don't forget to tip a little. You don't need to do 20% but you shoudl leave something in cash.
