My girlfriend and I were in Paris for a few days, we decided to take a walk around the famous Rue Cler to enjoy some of the amazing food we have heard all about. We had a look at the menu in the window of Tribeca and decided to give it a try. We ordered a brunch set menu each which included some Chicken Skewers. The food came pretty swiftly and all was well until my girlfriend noticed the chicken on her plate which was on top of other pieces of food was totally raw!! It looked as though it had seen the grille for all of 5 seconds.
Once we got the waitress over, she looked at it and then us as if to say "whats wrong?". We had to poke and cut the chicken to show her that it wasn't cooked, she then took the knife and fork and forced them back into my girlfriends hands and took the plate without saying anything...
A couple of mins later, she returned with a new piece of chicken which STILL HAD THE UNCOOKED CHICKEN on and went to walk away!! After getting her attention back, things started to get heated as I argued that this is wrong and how can she expect my girlfriend to want to eat a new piece of chicken while the old one is still there with a knife and fork which was used to cut it!! We had enough and wanted to leave.. This is when a new waiter/manager/rude guy came over and then insisted that everything is ok and he'll take the old chicken away.. NO! We don't want to be here any more, I'm happy to pay for my food but not hers!!

He was not happy to give any sort of discount, as she had eaten a few items, he wanted to charge full rate! This was when the volume started to get a little louder and the best he would do was half her bill, i just threw the money on the table and we left! He walked past us we left and just gave a rude stare, teriible service!! Had that have happened in the UK, the meal would have been free and someone would have said SORRY at least once!!

DISGUSTING and really left a sore point to our trip!!

Our hotel is in Rue Cler so we eat her a few times and on previous trips. It is frequented by a young crowd but although we are in our 50's we never felt out of place or awkward. the staff are efficient and offer a menu in English. The prices are also very reasonable.

it can get noisy but that adds to the atmosphere.

We would recommend the lasagne and the Panna Cotta. Italian dishes but the also sere french fare.

A great place to take the family or a date. Loved the warm goat cheese salad. A nice, casual french cafe in the heart of Paris.

Had a breakfast there - they had an 'express' breakfast for 10 euros: coffee, juice, pastry and eggs. My cappuccino was ok (had better at other places), eggs were very mediocre, croissant was great (well it come from a bakery next door!).

It is one of the places in the 7th frequented by youngish Americans who seem to find themselves very much at home with the eatery style fast service and the deafening noise.

We were there for a quick bite, had pizzas and a steak tartar, which were both very good to our surprise and delight.

The good thing about the place is that it is open into late hours, but gets even noisier by then from what we could hear from outside.
