This is a top hostel in a top city. I had previously stayed here with my girlfriend and been impressed and found it suitable for a city break with friends too.

Great nightlife and facilities!

TRY THE LONG ISLAND ICED TEAS!!!!

Excellent hostel. Loved the blinds, power and lights in each bed. Helpful and friendly staff with a great bar where it's easy to meet other independent travelers. Highly recommend.

I was in Paris for four nights in early August, and found St. Christopher's on Tripadvisor. It is the biggest, cleanest, friendliest hostel I've ever stayed in.

I stayed in a mixed 8 person dorm room. Each bed had a privacy curtain and a duvet (not just a sheet!), along with a sort of cage/box beneath the bed that you can lock your valuables in with a padlock (available for purchase from the front desk if you don't have your own). There was a sink in the room as well. In the washrooms down the hall, there were plenty of stalls, sinks, and showers - I never had to wait. The only criticism I have of the washroom was the fact that they had only ONE plug in in a ladies' washroom. They need more!

There is a great bar/restaurant adjoining the hostel (Belushi's) that served good food, and gave hostel clients discounts as well. Continental breakfast was served each morning, which meant baguettes (with jam or nutella spread), cereal, juice and coffee. Also, there was free wifi downstairs as well (too bad not in the rooms).

The one downside to this hostel is that it's not in central Paris. However, the Crimé Metro station is a short walk, and you can usually get to the major attractions in about half an hour. I took the Metro everywhere! On a positive note, the hostel is right next to a pretty canal and near a nice park as well.

There was also an excellent free walking tour that leaves from the front of the hostel every day at 10:00 a.m., which I highly recommend.

I would definitely stay here again, and seek out other St. Christopher's hostels in other European cities.

Eventhough the hotel is not in the center of Paris we didnt' mind because.... the youth hostel was so much fun we stayed in the hostel instead of visiting Paris (but we already went to paris lots of times so we it was not that we didnt know paris at all).
The staff is ok, not super super friendly but most staff people were nice.
Rooms are soooo nice, i have to say all the interior is so nice and cool.
We met lots of people in the hostel and it was such a nice atmosphere. we were outside till late at night and than had some fun in the bar and in the area downstairs. there was football on tv and it was such a nice atmosphere. i would go back!

Think about your worst hostel nightmare, multiply that by 10 and you get the St Christopher's Hostel experience in Paris.

The experience has been so bad at every level:
1. They booked my partner and I in separate bedrooms in separate floors. So everyday, my partner would need to come down to my floor for the toiletries in order to take a shower.
2. The elevator was broken for the entire duration of my stay - 7 days
3. The hostel was designed in a way that provides no ventilation - so be prepared for muggy hot summers. There are not even a fan in the room
4. The hostel smells horribly - it smells like sweat from people
5. The personnel is not helpful. The waitress in the restaurant are insubordinate - one of them confronted me after I asked if he could find what happened to a coffee I ordered 20 minutes before to read with my book!
6. The bathrooms are awfully dirty, with hair everywhere and some of the toilettes don't even have a seat.
7. Doors, locks, everything is extremely noisy so prepare to be waken up multiple times.
8. Their "breakfast" consists of french bread with WARM milk!
9. They overbooked guests ....
10. I can continue but I hope you get the point by now.

This hostel is not in the most central location however it is very close to 3 different metro lines. It is nice & new and right on a scenic canal, with a supermarket, post office, atm's & bakeries a short walk away. The food at the bar is fine, not fancy or traditional french but perfect if you're on a budget or don't want to eat out anywhere, and they have a drink special every night. We never heard any noise from the nightclub downstairs. There is plenty of internet access, a good atmosphere and the staff are helpful. I highly recommend doing the free Paris walking tour which you can get info about from the staff.

This is a big clean hostel with a nice bar & restaurant.

The only downside is the location. The suburb is not very exciting and anything of excitement will require a walk to the metro and then a train ride.
