“Filthy bathrooms”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

St Christopher's had a good size room with a privacy curtain. However the female bathrooms were disgusting. The toilets stink really bad and were not cleaned often. I wouldn't stay at this hostel again

I stayed here for a couple of nights. I was impressed with the dorm beds. They are proper built in bunk beds with individual power sockets, reading lights, privacy curtains and huge lockers under the bed. All hostels should be like this!

However, the location is not very nice and I didnt feel entirely safe, and it is quite far out of the city centre. The hostel is a party hostel. Great if you want to party, but not great if you want to sleep as the noise is loud until very early hours and so many people smoke out the front that it came into our room which then also smelt of smoke.

The housekeepers are strange. Twice when I was in the room during the day they came in, closed the curtains and then left and turned out the light, leaving me in darkness! They made my bed on the first day after I'd checked in, before I'd even slept on it - and so moved my stuff off the bed and left it all around the room!

You have to pay to store your luggage if you want to leave it there before you check in or after check out.

Breakfast is included but is very very basic, just a bit of cheap baguette bread and some jam sachets, or coco pops.

I wouldnt recommend this place.

Stayed here for one night. Staff were very friendly. It has its bar and night club, however the night club is what you make it. I had fun, but could imagine some people would not. Stayed in a mixed 10 dorm. Rooms were spacious and clean. had curtains that you could pull across your bed for privacy and lockers under the beds. However, they were extremely noisy pulling in and out. Has wi-fi which also worked in the dorm we stayed in. Very close to a metro stop. Would definitely recommend this place.

There restaurant service is atrocious! I sat down in the restaurant/sports bar n grill seating area for over 30min and not single waiter asked me if I wanted a menue or something to drink and that was not the first time. If you want something, you have to holler at the waiter and ask for a menu yourself. You may even have to get up and grab one.

-No A/C in the rooms
-Mosquito infested.. even in the restaurant
-WIFI only down in the lobby or 1st floor
-VERY BAD LOCATION! St. Christophers is all the way out in the boonies so you have to take the metro if you want to get anywhere in Paris
Bathrooms and Showers are public. If you take a shower, to keep the shower on you have to keep pressing the button because it is timed and it is only on for about 30seconds.

I would recomend to anyone considering to stay @ St. Christophers to try and see if they can find somehwere cheaper in a better location. I have stayed in much better hostels where they're showers were not public, wifi in the rooms, and a/c in there as well....

Room Tip: Go somewhere else! St. Christophers is VERY EXPENSIVE for the budget backpacker! 4 nights in an 8 be...

Brilliant hostel with everything you need. Ask for a dorm on the top floor as you get a wicked little balcony. The rooms were very good as far as hostels go - no bunks and a pretty big bathroom. Wicked bar where we played pool and on the river where we sat outside and had a few beers. Nice few restaurants around the corner too if you want to wander out for a meal. Tube not far. Would defo stay again if back in Paris

The good news is that this place is clean, the staff is helpful and its about 5 minutes from the metro. The bad news is that it's in a terrible part of town where I was afraid to walk at night. The hostel also has two sets of bathrooms (for each sex) at opposite ends of the halls so if you get a room at the opposite end of the hall from your bathroom you basically have to do the long walk of shame back to your room after every shower and bathroom break. The rooms, however, have sinks so you can at least brush your teeth in your own room. The rooms are also large but the beds are lumpy and there is lots of noise outside at all hours of the night. The attached restaurant has terribly slow service and even worse food.

The hostel itself was really cool, clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and really helpful staff. Breakfast was coco-pops, baguettes and no-name "nutella". The biggest drawback of this hostel is the location. It's in the middle of Paris' 19e arrondissement, which is quite dodgy, and it actually feels unsafe walking the streets, especially at night. Not to worry too much, though. The hostel is literally a block from the train station, so it's pretty much fine.
I very much enjoyed my stay!
