“Subtle and skilled”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

Exceptional meal. True French cuisine with lovely sauces, vegetables cooked beautifully, the duck properly rare and tender and the sea bass superb. The house red wine was full and rich. Fun watching the chef's deft movements and caring small flourishes when plating.

“Trop simple, trop ennuyeux , trop cher”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2013 via mobile

This seems to be a place that has peaked and lost its energy. One gets the impression that it is just standard production in the kitchen. Nothing rises above average, yet prices are in the high end. I even got the impression that the staff was a bit embarrased to serve. No pride was put into the presentation. When asked simple questions on the grapes in what was characterised as super wines, the staff could not deliver an answer.

“Cute Bistro with Lovely food!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2013

The little alley of Passage des Panoramas is so quaint and lovely! There are many interesting little bistros along the walkway, but we were told about Rancines, so we decided to try it. It is very small, about 7 tables inside and 2 outside. The menu is quite small as well, with 3 appetizers, 3 main plates, and 2 desserts. However I always find I get fresher more thought out food with seasonal ingredients that way. I had an eggplant salad, and my friend had the mackerel and cucumber dish. It was fresh, and simple food that was delicious. It is a very local spot Parisian spot.

“Truly "parisienne", with italian flavour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2012

Little, cozy restaurant with 5-6 table inside an a couple ouside in the passage.
Menu is limited to 3-4 for appetizer, first courses and main courses but all of them are really carefully composed.
One of the owner is Italian and they use truly italian ingredients like olive oil or Parma ham.
Desserts are wonderful, I suggest the one with meringue, strawberries and goat cheese.
Prices quite high (around 50 euro for main course+dessert+glass of wine).

“A Nice Piece of Paris........”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2012

We were taken to this restaurant by a Paris local who said it was one of the best in Paris and he was true to his word.

The restaurant is a small modern design with seating for about 35 people either at individual tables or one long communal table which is where we sat. The service was quick and attentive and each of the menu courses were explained to us. The wine list was quite extensive for such a small restaurant and was of a high standard and reasonably priced.

The menu reflected seasonal ingredients and were well presented when the dishes arrived and were typically French, very fresh food and very, very tasty. It was a very relaxed eating environment and there was no pressure to eat and run, unlike at some other restaurants.

This is a restaurant that should be on your list to try when in Paris as it is a very good example of French food and hospitality at a very reasonable price.
