“A Charming Little Cafe in the Center of Things, With a Relatively Tranquil Setting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2012

I stumbled upon this little cafe (actually they refer to themselves as a salon de the) several times before I wrote down exactly where I saw it and came back for lunch. It has limited seating and a limited menu, but the food is good quality and not too expensive for residing in the city center.

The most charming feature is its unique position - just far enough off the street to cut down on traffic noise. Backed slightly uphill, into a blind alley behind St. Gervais-et.-St.-Protais Church, your view is similar to a small, private courtyard. And yet there is some pedestrian traffic to watch. This is truly a tranquil spot to relax in the middle of a very busy area of the city, likely to be close to your route between sights.

“Cozy spot for lunch or tea”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2012

Found this nice small tea house/restaurant while walking in the area. We were not in a hurry and we tend to entertain ourselves at meals, so we never mind a slow paced meal. We found the service very satisfactory for our needs. Food was a little different than most places and we loved our meals. Our group liked the "Cardinals" (red wine kir) and loved the cozy and bright feel of the place. Prices were reasonable for Paris. Seemed like a great place to stop in for tea and a snack as an afternoon break. It certainly suited us for lunch.

“aweful customer service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2011

We ordered a menu: starter + main meal. We waited 30 minutes between our starter and our main meal, and the kitchen was certainly not busy, as it was coffee time for most of the people in there.
After 20 minutes waiting, we reminded the waitress about our meal, to what she repplied very rudely as if we were disturbing her while she chatted with her colleague.
Summing up, terrible service and rude staff.

“Good food, good location, nice atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2011

This place is really nice for either tea, just a drink, brunch, lunch or dinner. The food is good and healthy and not too expensive too. Try the hot lemon juice with honey, my favourite. They serve a very good brunch and have a great choice of salads as well. You can sit outside if you want and the location is lovely, very central and very parisian.
I would recommend this place for tourists and locals alike.

“Lots of Dosh for 'mixed' service/ value/ ambience”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2011

It's close to the action. We WERE in need of sustenance. So we endured a little careless treatment in the 'welcoming department'. price for two cups of tea...( that's the MOOD we were in)...didn't feel like ALCOHOL at midday...on THIS day... we're not used to paying 20 bucks in our money '...hey it's a cuppa!!!! the food? well, the plat du jour was excellent...free range baby chook w/ thyme and roasted spuds, a little green salad...an extra dessert of 'crumble' from 3 fruits, served with light cream..all good, but NOT as good as 'home'...it's a restaurant, remember... seated in an uncomfortable tiny table...wished we were outdoors on a sunny day...got no assistance there... slow & slightly un attentive in the service department IMHO...value NOT up to the mark...overall a C plus...and that's being generous
