On my search for an alsacien restaurant in Paris I ended up in Flam's which features five locations in Paris and several in the périphérie of the country. You can choose à la carte or one of the excellent multi-course meals ($15-23). The wait staff was fairly young and unfortunately not very experienced (e.g. the apéritif was served after the first course was finished). The nice thing is that if you take the formule menu, you get all you can eat tarte flambée (à volonté). Whenever you are done with one, the waitress is prepared to bring you another one (or a different style). For as little as 65¢ you can upgrade your apéritif or dessert to a choice with liquor. They serve free tap water on request and have some good and affordable wines from the Alsace. Tarte flambée does not stay hot very long. I therefore appreciate that they serve one after the other fresh out of the oven. I was very happy with the food and the bill, but not so happy with the service and their opening hours (they are closed 3:00 - 6:30 PM and only accept groups on Monday evenings). Overall a good experience. I will certainly look for a Flam's sign on my next visit to France.

Imagine 15+ types of pizza that they keep on bringing and rotating until you give up :)

And the combinations, they came up with... brie cheese and honey...just delicious

We went to Flam's while on a school tour with our son's German class. A "Flamkeuse" is kind of like a flatbread pizza. It was good, nice and light after a full day walking around the city. They served us one Flamkeuse with cheese, bacon, and onion and another with beef and a mustard sauce. The setting was casual. Nice choice, particularly for kids who are experiencing a new culture, but without overdoing the exposure (no duck pate').

We had a nice meal here, it was very reasonably price, a good choice of flammekueches. we had already eaten a meal at lunchtime, so wanted something good value and fairly light, this was a good choice. You could easily eat here cheaply and feel full if you wanted to. It has a laid back atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff and good value (for Paris) food.

We went to Paris on a school excursion and after having gone to the Louvre and the Arc de Triomphe we topped the day off with dinner at Flam's. We had been walking all day and so believe me, none of us were feeling particularly fussy about what we were going to eat. We made the mistake of asking for more Flam's because the waitress was so incompetent that she brought us one measly Flam between eight ravenous pupils. We had ham and onion Flam which tasted like BO and then a mince Flam which was boggin! Feeling sick, we were looking forward to dessert.... but lo and behold what was this? A chocolate Flam?! It tasted like a dump wrapped in paper. The anarchists that were the Flam's chefs had also cooked up for us (not unlike the three witches in Macbeth) an apple and cinnamon Flam to destroy our tastebuds. When the inadequate service gave us these, one girl said 'Is this some kind of a sick joke?!' and one poor boy's birthday dinner lay in tatters. The vegetarian option given to one girl was only half a flam, with double the barf factor and the salad given to a pupil looked no better than rabbit food. Overall, the experience was physically revolting and I would not only advise you to stay away from that hellhole, but warn others away from it.
