This restaurant is located an hour drive from Paris nearby the Fontainebleau Castle and forest.
Surroundings are a bit suprising for a one star restaurant since it is in a quite plain street a few meters away from a coin laundry.
The exterior is pretty plain too but the interior is quite cosy and comfortable with around ten tables at most.
Actually this is not bad since it puts you at ease, by contrast with most Michelin star restaurants which usually have this stuck up atmosphere making it difficult to really relax and enjoy.
Foodwise, there are 3 types of menus available, a normal menu at 35+ only availble for lunch and weekdays, and 2 others menus at 50+ and 90+ available both for lunch and dinner.
We had the 50+ menu which was already a real treat.
Dishes were very well presented with a great attention to details and colors. But most of all, dishes had great taste and originality. Very often you get fancy dishes which in the end dont taste much but this is not the case. Each dish has a unique and strong taste making you experience the aromas of each ingredient.
Volumewise it was just right. Some portions looked small but were actually very filling so ended just right, not too full and not feeling hungry.
As for the wine, it was ok with a good and wide choice and prices starting from 30+.
The only small letdown was service with waiters who seemed a bit a lost. It was full at the time so they certainly had their hands full but it was a bit annoying having to wait long just to get a refill of water.
But other than that service was polite and friendly and each dish was well explained.
Overall this is a great place and definitely a great value when you compare the quality of the dishes served and the price of the menu. Usually such a standard would easily fetch a price above 100 Euros so this is definitely worth it.
Definitely recommend it and it s definitely worth the drive from Paris.
