“Still closed in May”

We went here in mid-May and sadly it was all still closed. We couldn't even find a nice place to sit and have a break or pick-nick next to the lake. The lake itself looked beautiful and I wish we could have spent some time there and went canoeing.

The drive to get to the lake is also stunning, though if you come from the east side and surround the lake in the north it can be quite frightening as the roads are super narrow (1 car width) and very high up.

You should visit this lake if you stay in Ajaccio. Breathtaking views, good opportunities to rent kayaks and pedal boats. There are also a few nice places to eat right by the lake.

Peaceful and clean lake with beautiful surroundings and village. Cheap "centre nautique" where you can rent kayaks and pedal boats from a very friendly and smiling man. You have a couple of restaurants with lake view if you haven't brought your own lunch. At the parking lot we bought delicious home made saucisson and honey from a charming local. Great experience if you feel an urge to get away from the tourist crowds and typical beach life! Our 4 year old son enjoyed it as well.

My wife and stopped at Corsica as part of a Riviera cruise. We got a coach to take us up the long widing scenic road, to the top where the views were spectacular! There was a nice little restaurant/bar/cafe i think called Restaurant lac tolla. W sampled some chestnut beer a local favourite called Pietre as i recall. Definately worth a visit if you have time!
