Great food and friendly service in French (or English)! ...and an unbeatable 3 course lunch menu at 17 Euros and a kids menu for 10 Euros including a drink. Plus the wine was great at 5 Euros a glass. The food was heavy on the meat and lots of it. The street is a little tricky to find as the entrance to it off Place du Gaulle isn't marked - just continue up the road past Le 20123 (only open in the night and pricey).

We had a great meal at Le Roi de Rome. I had Filet Mignon which was beautifully cooked and presented. My partner had sirloin steak which was also delicious. I feel the prices are about the same as many restaurants around the port area of Ajaccio, so not cheap, but it Ajaccio isn't the cheapest of places to eat. I feel however, that for the locale the fodd was fairly priced. I would recommend you book in advance, as it gets very busy, even during the week.

We ate in several restaurants in Ajaccio and this was definitely the best. Excellent service and lovely location in the Rue du Rome. It's off the main streets and not that obvious to find but when you do it's a little slice of Italy mixed with France; a street with a great atmosphere. I was feeling semi adventurous and had filet mignon of wild boar and honestly it was one of the nicest meals I've had! great antipasti and charcuterie and amazing fruit with chocolate sauce for dessert. They also serve massive looking 'maison' profiteroles. It's not the cheapest but for the food quality it is worth it and compares very favourably to other places we have eaten in France. We had more expensive meals that were no where near as good! If you are a bit of a wine expert, the selection is pretty extensive. All in all, definitely worth a visit.

This place was in a nice street, was nice to hear the live music down the road.

The food and wine was very nice but maybe a little bit pricey for what it was. We had steak and duck and they were both cooked lovely and a nice bottle of white wine.

I agree with the other comments made. Great food in a great location with a fantastic wine list. Bit more expensive than other restaurants but I think that's mainly down to the wine picking...

Would eat here again and recommend to friends.
