“Really nice place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2012

Very nice Restaurant in the centre of Ajaccio. Make sure that you go on a Thursday night as they play some really good live traditional music. The food was very nice and the whole atmosphere very cozy. Be sure to get a table inside though. Overall, I can only recommend this restaurant and we will definitely go back,

“Go there if you are hungry!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2012

This is a special place with a special concept. No menu, you will be offered a set menu at a price of approx 35 Eur in which there are two alternatives for starter, main course and dessert. The food was said to be "typical corsican food". OK food but nothing special really. The atmophere indoor was pleasant but reminded us more about a dinner place in the alps than a seaside place.

“a bit pricey for what you get”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2012

We went there on our first night on the island and thus the customery three-course menu at 34 euros seemed rather reasonable. The restaurant's interior imitated a village's square with the fountain (where customers are supposed to take water) and the post office. The first course -- a charcuterie platter -- was really huge and it easily made two of us full. One of the second course, a potful of vegetable soup, was OK but nothing but average home cooking. Another second course, cannelloni with Brocciu, was again really big. It tasted good but was lukewarm at best like the soup. One of the main course was lamb with pile and pile of chips. While it was well cooked, the lamb seemed to be from bony part. The other main course was veal stew with a mountain of polenta. We just had a hard time stuffing ourselves with the food. We were told the house wine was "local of course" but the owner did not bother to tell us which area it was from. Later at some other restaurant, I found that there were nine AOCs in Corsica and wondered what le 20123's owner meant by "local". Having eaten quite a few dinners at various locations on the island, I now think this establishment is definitely not value for money.

“good quality lunch for a good price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2012

A pleasant place to stop for lunch, with friendly service, good dishes swinging between modern cuisine and traditional french/corsican. I have eaten there a few times and there are often good and original "plat du jour", which gives a nice twist to the menu that is a little more traditional (pasta gambas, grillades, etc...).
Also very conveniently located in the centre of Ajaccio.

“Pleasantly interesting but the food was average. Service was rude!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2012

We dine at the restaurant on 1.1.2012. We were seated by a non welcoming waitress that was obvious not to be happy being
There on the day. The owner came to take our order, he was very nice and explained the menu and the history of the place in a welcoming way. The first starter out of two was a bean soup. It was homy, soup with vegetables, nothing to write home about. Second starter was a brocciu cheese crepe, the sauce was sweet and tasty. Main course lamb was very bonny so not much meat but good flavour. Through out whole the meal the waitress asked us to keep the used cutlery for next dish which wasn't elegant but we thought is part of the meal concept. We were so surprised that she kept asking to keep the same dirty knife and fork for the cheese plate and when asked if we can change  cutlery, she all of a sudden made a sharp movement showing her dissatisfaction that I thought she is going to attack us. The cheese with marmalade was really nice and so is the dessert. Throughout the whole meal not a single smile from the waitress which we later realised was probably the owner's daughter, was this part of the restaurant concept? All in all the design of the place was cosy and full of charm, the food was between interesting to average and the service was between cold to freaky. We actually liked the restaurant though could do better with euro70 bill not including drinks.
